Can anybody enter a piece of art into the exhibition and how would I go about doing that?

Yes, anyone can enter work for the RA Summer Show but you'll have to wait until the 2008 submission which is in April, I think. Check out the Royal Academy website for more information.

I entered a couple of abstract works for the RA a couple of years ago; didn't get 'in' and said I wouldn't enter again! Now, I'm rather sorry I didn't ... Oh well, guess I'll be seeing you on 'receiving' day next year!!!

One point to always bear in mind: The RA Summer Show is the closest thing to a lottery - You're either lucky, or you're not. If you should be unsuccessful with your entries, this does not mean your work is bad. I believe even Claude Monet had work rejected by the RA. Good luck!
