Yes, I think so. At least just to make sure the giant step of marriage isn't rushed into and dissolves quickly. But, yea I agree about those 3 year 4 year long stages of just being BF/GF. Unless you're like some people who don't want to get married until all gays are allowed the right. That's a whole other story.

Dating is forbidden and is a sin because when a man and a woman are alone together when they are not related then Iblis is the third person. If a man and a woman are alone together it can lead to sex outside of marriage, single mothers, STDS, HIV, AIDS, babies produced outside of wedlock. It's also against Islam for the opposite sexes to intermingle and mix with each other. Women aren't allowed to have male friends and men aren't allowed to have female friends as it could lead to something bad happening and in Islam it's important that men and women are virgins when they get married.

because attraction leads to sex...but it dont ve to also.depends on the people.That is why women are so protected that they wore a burkha so that men will not be tempted..however this extremity brings the opposite effects. As i have read "the princess" written jean Sasson which is a true story of a saudi princess, i came to know that the males used to go for sex trip in other country and enjoyed a blissful time buying whores and doing what they cannot freely do in their country (hypocrites)

The trouble with denial of relationships is that young, hormone riddled men can be so easily manipulated into becoming tools for evil. Sexual urges are sublimated into self destructive behaviors, such as suicide bombing missions, with the promise of 72 virgins in the afterlife.
It is so much more difficult getting american boys to volunteer for suicide missions because they have a much better idea just what it is they will miss. And there is nothing like the love of a good woman to sap one's hatred, will to martyrdom, and the hope of slaughtering jewish babies.
