It is hard to put a number on it, but it is anywhere from 1 to 10 depending if it is a drinking question or a hateful spew.
This column is equally for everyone, and the topic is very interesting because many people do not have a change ( or they are not allowed to talk about faith in the working environment ) to talk about religion and spiritual stuff in the real life. It is just some people think they are more equal than others.

First & most logical answer I can give you is what many already know--this is NOT exclusively a Christian section. It is: "Religion & Spirtuality." I've noted that "other" religions don't try to convert; they don't tell us we're going to hell if we don't believe as they do. (Nor do all Christians, but most do.) "True Christains don't care if you reject God...WE KNOW.." is the sort of thing that seems arrogance, but really is not. It's simply the I'm right & you're wrong syndrome. But, Marky, I don't agree that Atheists have "laws." We have a moral compass, & seems I've hardly ever seen an Atheist bashing a Christian for not being an Atheist. Why don't you just let it go?

First of all, by what authority do you declare Theists’ beliefs to be “nonsense”. Each of the groups, both Theists and Atheists, are engaging in a system of belief. For either side to describe the other as “nonsense” is, in and of itself, an arrogant act.
Secondly, you claim that Theists interject their gods into your laws. Which laws are those? If you are speaking legally, I’m aware of no serious movement in Western Culture to force God into a legal system. If you are speaking scientifically, then you are operating from the logically fallacious view that Science and Religion are mutually exclusive.
I do feel it is presumptuous to invent nonsense, and then whine if others refute that nonsense. Especially those folks that make a Yahoo! question specifically designed to call another group arrogant. Consider this – in the recorded history of human civilization, can you think of any one major civilization that did not have a deeply developed Theistic theory?
Human civilizations have always believed in the Divine, and have always developed systems by which they express those beliefs. There have also always been those dissenters, who refuse to believe in that divine. Either side claiming the other to be lacking merit themselves lack a great deal of perspective.

"why atheists visit a religious section? "
A legitimate question . Wondered the same myself . I.e. why would you spend time on something you admittedly have no use for ? In reading the questions & answers , I can see why. So......, for just asking the question , give 'em a 0 . For the few that say you have no business being there , a 9 (" Not 10? " , you say. - I don't like absolutes (mostly ;D), especially in regards to opinions and beliefs )
A#2: Maybe they're just "inventing" something for you to do ? ;D In other words, creating a platform for us to enjoy God's gift of laughter . =)))

I really don't think arrogance is a part of it. I think for the most part the people who ask that question are simply curious. They probably have not been in the R&S section long to get a feel for it. If they come here thinking they are going to be able to have a Bible study. . .well, I am sure they are shocked. I really do not think it is arrogance. You should try not to have a complex about it. =)

I'd say 1, as "Why do atheists visit a religious section?" is a perfectly legitimate question with a legitimate answer.
However, when it gets phrased along the lines of "Why can't all these Satan-inspired hell-spawned infidels who don't belong here anyway all **** off and leave us good people of faith to discuss our religion in peace?" (as it sometimes IS), it does, indeed, merit a 10.

Well, this ISN'T a religious section. It's titled RELIGION and SPIRITUALITY because it is about those TOPICS, NOT a gathering place devoted only to those of certain beliefs. Theists would have reason to question why an atheist was hanging out at a church (1), but this section of Yahoo! Answers is religiously NEUTRAL territory (10).
