The idea of a "purge" means that there will be a wholesale slaughter of people. That will require the use of an evil person or persons.

Also, what is the definition of evil? It is not a black and white issue. To one person, an evil person is a murderer or rapist, however to another person a guy who does not believe that the teletubbies are gay is considered evil. You don't have to look too far before you find good people who are considered evil. I know someone who believes that Ghandi was an evil man because he was supposedly an adulterer.

The people who are trying to purge out the evil in the world are imposters. Scripture tells us that satan is the god of this world. Evil will therefore not die until satan is put away, which will not happen until Jesus returns to establish God's kingdom on Earth.

I think you have a valid point. Everyone wanted to eulogize Jerry Falwell after his passing last month. "What a great man of God!" "What things he did for the glory of God!" It made me sick. Falwell's idea of Christianity was so far from the truth I honestly think the Rastafarians have a closer grasp on Chrsitianity than he did! Falwell preached hate, intolerance, self-righteousness and worst of all, pride. He invoked fear in his congregation when it came to African Americans, homosexuals, liberals and Jews. He spoke nothing but hatred and tagged our loving God's name to it.

Someone said something on another question you posted and it really stuck out for me. "'Tolerance' is a liberal euphamism for 'there's no such thing as sin.'" I'm not sure from which part of the Bible this person drew this definition from, but that's a lie. When someone who is supposed to be a man of God and a leader of a church tells other Christians to hate... regardless of any reasons he may back it up with... it's a lie. And as a Christian myself, I'm aware of where lies are born and who plants them into our minds.

Considering that there is no such thing as pure evil and that even the most horrible of people that we all condemn seem to have some good qualities about them, I'd say that is a definitely a possibility worth considering.

You mean like in Hot Fuzz (Won't say too much more in case you haven't seen it) The greater good takes on a new meaning.

Yes. I think you could be right, but then I think there are good people too... So we can't assume they are ALL evil.

I have NO idea who you are referring to!

Let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good.... If a Christian voted for Clinton, he sinned against God. It's that simple.... Our goal is a Christian Nation... we have a biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want Pluralism. We want theocracy. Theocracy means God rules. I've got a hot flash. God rules.

Reason is the Devil's greatest whore; by nature and manner of being she is a noxious whore; she is a prostitute, the Devil's appointed whore; whore eaten by scab and leprosy who ought to be trodden under foot and destroyed, she and her wisdom ... Throw dung in her face to make her ugly. She is and she ought to be drowned in baptism ... She would deserve, the wretch, to be banished to the filthiest place in the house, to the closets.
— Martin Luther

What shall we do with ... the Jews? ...set fire to their synagogues and schools and bury and cover with dirt whatever will not burn, so that no man will ever again see a stone or cinder of them.
— Martin Luther
