What Is the reason Atheists congregate to this site? Most of you know YOU will never change a person who loves the lord to your belief of nothingness.

I know many Christians are leaving to other sites where they can get away from Atheists by private messages I receive,so is it your intention to make this a total Atheist Site?

And when all the people who believe in GOD exit this site will you still be here?

I know it's hard to accept the glaringly obvious facts that many atheists post for all religions to enjoy, but that does not make it an attack on anyone.

Education is good. If it doesn't make your faith stronger, perhaps you didn't really believe to begin with.

Atheists are on a Religion and Spirituality site because they have a position on Religion and Spirituality that they wish to share; namely, that it is all nonsense.

We do not wish to change your opinion, we simply don't want it to be so popular and uncontested that people who are undecided or still forming an opinion embrace religion merely to avoid being an outcast.

As to why there are so many here, when atheists only make up 12% of the population:
Well, to use this site you must be at least partially capable of reading, writing, and using a computer. That doesn't set the bar too high, but does screen out those with the least education and intelligence. So the percentage of atheists will be higher here than in the general population.

For the same reason you laugh at the Wiley Coyote falling off a cliff. Just can't believe he did that, again! Funny how he doesn't learn yet still believes he'll catch that roadrunner. I have no illusion about converting the religious. Why do the religious keep posting questions aimed at getting a response from the atheists, aren't you poking a stick at the tiger?

By the way your redundancy is, well yes, redundant.

I'm here because I find the study of theology in all its mariad forms to be an intriguing topic.

I needn't believe a thing to study it. I've done in-depth critical analyses of the Lord of the Rings mythology, along with the mythology from the role-playing game, "Werewolf: The Apocalypse." However, I believe in neither Sauron or Werewolves.

If the Christians all left, I'd still be here enjoying the dialog with the non-Christian theists ... after all, you Christians don't have exclusive access to the belief in a higher power.

Whatever the reazons of the people to believe in God or not , are just a evidence of the moves of Satan or God , one of the best tricks of the "fallen angel" is making people believe there's no God or Devil ... but as the time has passed by ...by the thousands... things keep going on clearer ... and unavoidable prophecies are being fulfilled in front of our very eyes ....so an atheist is just a person making a choice , getting to himself a mark ... by default .

It DOESN'T say "Religious and Spiritual". ANYONE of ANY belief can discuss the TOPICS of Religion and Spirituality, and atheists tend to be very educated about them. Atheists are also some of the MOST spiritual people on the planet.

Uh, if you don't want atheists answering your questions, stop addressing questions to atheists.

I'm not "on" a Religion and Spirituality site, I'm on a question and answer site, one category of which is R&S.

Not all Christians are unwilling to ask and answer questions of atheists; I've seen posts by reasonable Christians here.

But if you want to leave, by all means do so.

I agree with you, Original Poster.

NOT saying this should be a "Christian Only" site b/c I like other points of view and I like learning why people believe (or don't believe) what they do (or don't).

But it seems kind of odd to me...the logic of "I'm a hardcore Athiest and Christians are stupid fairy-tale believers so I'm gonna go to this message board about religion and redicule them and call them names and thumbs-down their pro-God comments"

Don't you have something better to do with your time? Or even within the realms of this forum, why not make your own space? Sure, others might comment, but if I see "Muslims Only", I respect that...maybe respect could be EARNED if it was actually SHOWN in the first place.

*not a generalization, just how I feel most of the time I'm in R&S

1. The opposite of ANY topic is still a part of the topic
2. Christians ask us lots of silly questions
3. The drinks!

LOL.....it's just Monday afternoon and already this question has been asked for the first time this week.

This isn't called the Christian or Believers site....it's a site where it's OK to discuss anything about religion or spirituality.

That's not going to change....and I guess this question will continue to be asked.

Well, it would be rather silly to talk about religion in Home and Gardening. But hey, if you guys only want to talk to yourselves, I don't mind at all if you find another place to do it. Then the open-minded Christians will come out of the woodwork and we can discuss religion with them.
