Archbishop John J. Myers of Newark quotes "...we don’t think it’s a matter of church teaching, but a matter of the way God made the world, and it applies to everyone.”

It's not a fear of dingbats knocking on my door, it's the fear of dingbats in office with an agenda that limits the rights of the rest of us in the name of the lord. Just try living in Iran fo couple days and see what religious intolerance looks like at it's finest.

Almost, if he speaks for Christians nationwide, they yes, it does absolutely. If he only speaks for himself and some of the people he keeps around him, but the rest of Christianity disagrees with him, then it only validates my fear that some of them must have recently escaped the asylum. But we all know that all christians really think this guy is right... it's amazing how they transfer the responsibility for their actions to imaginary creators and no one is allowed to call them deluded without being accused of being intolerant or of persecuting them.

p.s. Bobby Jim, can you think of a time when CHRISTIANS marked people for death? Maybe even ethnic cleansing? How about a time when they wanted to kill everyone that didn't believe in their god? Do you think they are really above such measures? Were you home-schooled by christian parents?

Yes - but there are many similar quotes. The church has been trying to impose itself on everyone for centuries....

Of course. But not a one of them understands how that is imposing.

They all see it the same way. "I'm not imposing my religion on you... GOD IS!"

Sharing the Gospel and beliefs is not "inflicting" our will on anyone.
Remedy?
Walk away.
Go to another forum.
Change the channel.
Hang up the phone.
Turn off the radio.
hold your ears and say, "Lalalalalalalalalala"
or simply say, "Thanks, I'm not interested." then shut the door.

Civility is not Rocket Science.
