I had an odd occurrence when I went to bed last night. I was lying there thinking about the day's events, and preparing to go to sleep. The body pillow I sleep with became very heavy and felt like man's body lying next to/half on top of me. At first, I thought I was dreaming, but realized quickly that I was completely awake. I also heard a man's voice mumble something that sounded like, "What are you doing here?" in a sleepy tone, but I'm not positive that's what it said. The heaviness of the pillow/body lasted for about 45 seconds, and at first when I pushed against the pillow to move it off me, the weight was like that of an actual person who had rolled over on me. It was only after the voice and my third try at pushing the pillow away that it actually let go and got light like a pillow again. I was definitely absolutely awake, and completely freaked out.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what happened? Could it have been someone else projecting to me?

Yes very possible. I can help with this a lot if you are willing to understand and learn. I have been doing this for years with myself and for people.
The weight and voice was actually yourself. Dont be freaked out. In fact what you expierienced is very cool and in some cases very lucky. Most people never get to experience that. Good for you!! You will probably be very good at astral traveling. I would research it more and definately look into it. You have a very open soul, you just do not know it yet. Like I said, email me and I can help with any questions or guidance.

If it were astral projection, the weight would not have been in the pillow, as the person's actual body does not project, only their "light body" ... Likewise, a spirit does not have a physical body, only a light body, therefore there is no weight involved.

I'm not sure what you experienced, but it was not astral projection, nor a spirit. My best guess is that you were in between the sleep and dream state, and although you appeared to be "wide awake" what you experienced was part of a dream ... also known as a Lucid Dream.

The books I have read on the subject, as well as interviews of people who claim to be able to astrally project does not match your experience.

Yours actually sounds more like an attempt at possession.

When you are in the half awake/half asleep state (allpha) your mind is open to psychic impressions. That was a spirit as it moved off as soon as you could shake the pillow. It sounded as confused as you...so it was definitely not someone astral travelling to you.

You suffered a form of sleep paralysis. It's a perfectly normal and non-supernatural process that your body goes through in order to keep you from hurting yourself accidentally by thrashing around while you're asleep.
