There are a lot of areas that you can check with on-line and in the 'real' world. There was a volunteer at the college I worked in and she made such a positive impact. It was a joy to work the days she volunteered on.

I'm sure that there are a lot of organizations and people who would love to hear from you. Maybe you'll be the one who brightens someones day. Good luck!

Some areas you might want to look into:

Local colleges; check for service learning at your local college
High schools
elementary schools
libraries
Red Cross
neighborhood associations
television stations; for referral information
radio stations; for referral information
virtual volunteering (on line)
crisis hot-lines
Make a Wish Foundation
USO
Hospitals
Animal Humane Society

America's Second Harvest would probably love to get some help from someone who is looking for someone to help. They run food banks all across the nation. When you get to this first website, ignore the first web address-- it was too long and got chopped off.

Points of Light Foundation has a website you might want to check out too, their Directory of Volunteer Centers:

Can't give you a website, but how about some ideas?
A retirement home alwaays needs help.
Even better, the veterans homes. give back to the men and women that made this country great.
Be a volunteer at a hospital.
be a mentor.
your public library just to name a few.
Good luck
