Check the stats online. Its public information. Americans by and large believe in God . Some studies for over fifty years have stated that 9 out of 10 people believe in God.

Belief in God is very, very, strong in our nation contrary to what some Christians are finding with a very small minority on R&S.

Most republicans in some studies reject the Theory of evolution.

Christians hold your head up high on yahoo answers(R&S). Belief in God is alive and well in America. Don't be duped into following after man-made theories that combat the Holy scriptures. Have faith in God.

Be encouraged and keep witnessing for the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am excited!

I am truly saddened by it.

It is no wonder the US is falling farther and farther behind on the educational ladder. We have one of the highest illiteracy rates is the western world. You sound like you would like us back it the 17th Century.

Evolution is a fact. "The Theory of Evolution" is one of the soundest theories in science. It is right up there with the "Theory of Gravity" Yet, some backward Christians hold on to a totally disproved idea of a 6,000yr old earth an the story of Genesis.

Oh, please do not quote polls to anyone like they prove anything. The only thing polls prove is that there are a lot of really stupid people walking around. If you took a poll in, say, the year 1400, most people would say the earth was flat. Does that mean they were right? You could take a poll and ask people who their US Senators are, and many wouldn't know. What does that prove, other than they are ignorant? Same thing with this idiotic poll. I know that belief in god is rampant in this country; I don't need a poll to prove that. Ignorance is also rampant, as this poll demonstrates.

It depends how you ask the question really doesn't it.

In the UK is is claimed that around 80% of people believe in god, but actually around 2% are actively religious in the traditional church. Very few would call themselves christians, and when polled those that do generally do not believe in such things as the virgin birth, resurrection etc.

People want to believe in god, so they do. They just don't believe in yours because experience has told them (from looking at you all) that he is a vicious bigot.

Hence the enormous rise in spiritualism and alternative forms of religion. People still want answers - they are just damned sure Christianity doesn't have them.

If human beings stepped forward from "some thing," what sparked the introduction of the "ingredient?" If human beings are stepped forward from this "ingredient," the place is the data of the ingredient's advance in a halfway element? In different words, there is data of a new child's advance and introduction at concept. Fetuses could be shown at various levels of advance. So the place is the beast guy-fish guy-reptile fish guy that human beings stepped forward from? I nonetheless have not seen that one yet. There continuously must be a spark of existence that starts the fireplace. yet who lit the tournament?

I both knew this and was disheartened by it. If you are looking for a theocracy, the USA is getting close to it. A hundred years of Christian preachers standing before their congregations espousing untruths about creation, speciation, and life itself has had its impact, and it will cost the US scientists, jobs, and eventually our place in the world.

You are correct. This country is still mired in xian myth.

It's sad that people in an industrialized nation like the US still believes in the flood and ressurection, whereas the rest of the industrialized world is moving on.

Belief in G-d translates neither to belief in the bible nor belief in the divinity of Jesus.

"Christians" is a misnomer.

Belief in insane religious doctrines is alive and well. I sometimes wonder if America can really be classed as a civilised western country any more.

This speaks volumes on the state of the American education system and is nothing to be proud of.
