Are we...inherently good people, caught in an imperfect world?

The News usually shows us the worst of society, murder, rape,
war, poverty, gang life, thieves, school shootings infact they now say the number one death of pregnant women is homicide, that being said when do you see the best of society?
Natural Disasters that's when people come to the aid of thier fellow man. Other than that all CHARITIES are reporting they are significantly down with donations.

Most people know and associate with folks on the Internet on a regualr basis, rather than inviting people into there homes that live in there own neighborhoods.

Thier was a report that peole were so happy to see Paris Hilton go to prison because she is a person of priviledge, beauty, fame and people in general with a nature of being envious, jealous, and just mean like to see the downfall of other's...None of us here know one another, yet it is only the Athesits that insult, make fun of and ridicule, so with no GOD in a society I can imagine how cruel people would be in droves???

We are basically good but fallen through Original Sin,the effects of which we inherit, and we can't save ourselves. Yes, the world and society around us is messed up but that is because the world and society are made up of people who are imperfect and the reality of creation as we have it is also messed up.
We all need alot of discipline and willingness toaid others(and ourselves)in need. We all need to respect other people and try to see their points of view.
In the end ,I'm convinced that all this shows that we need a real Savior,whom I believe to be Jesus Christ.

We are God's creation. With God we are inherently good people, but without God we are the vilest of creatures.

Atheists would not admit this, but the murder, rape, gang life, thieves, school shootings have increased dramatically since God was taken out of the public schools.

I do not wish evil on Paris Hilton, but I do not want her to receive any less than I would receive for a similar crime. You see, it is about all members of society receiving equal justice under the law.

That is part of what the constitution is about. These men of power and wealth wrote into the constitution laws that protect the least of us from being abused by the laws they created.

I hope ConstElation does not rely on what the evening news tells us is the truth. I can not trust the major news outlets to give us all of the facts. They just support their vested interests.

The initial creation was very good.Now people are inherently evil and the whole creation suffers because of it.In spite of this many good things happen to all of us These are blessings from God who seaks to save us from eternal damnation.Your last sentence is very acurate.We have seen what the no-God theory has produced.During the French revolution they had the guilotine.Now we have all seen what Godles societies did.Example: The U.S.S.R. Nazie Germany.
Atheists must have an incredible faith.I don't have that big a faith.Immagine no God--no Creator.Everything came on its own from no material and no designer and no energy.Anyone who believes such an unscientific thesis. is totally ignorant,crazy or very wicked.

what if th news only showed good things while millions die of starvation and war? What if they only showed happy births instead of leting us know that homicide is the #1 cause of pregnant women? would not that be worse? we see good and bad on the news. We have to know whats happening to get a true and firm grip on our faith.

ps- even without the news we can see ugliness not far from our homes.

Believe it or not....humanity is inheritenly good. They strive to find the good in others. Hence those on the internet who continue to communicate, find some response to their queries. Bad news sells! And I don't believe it is jealousy of the rich! We seem to want to know what to avoid on our streets and in our society. But we do need to get out from behind the computer screen more often...the reality of life is bypassed for the cyber life.

well with the exception of those famous atheists stallin, mao, pol pot, ho chi min etc...overall most people are good in nature....but it seems in this generation that many are not...try driving around town..see how many people tail gate 2 inches off your bumper, won't let you merge in traffic etc...lines at stores....in general lots of folks are rude. but not all of us.

and yes a society with no moral compass would go down hill pretty quick...just look at the kids that come out of today's public commie re-education camps..errr schools...do they learn don't lie steal murder rape do drugs? nope....can't say those things anymore because of commie propaganda....they do learn about self, gay sex, condoms, America is bad, everywhere else is superior etc....it will get worse before it gets better.

Deep down I suspect people are inherently good but their true nature is masked by all the materialist illusions that they cling to like religious dogma etc. Few people are really in touch with their true spiritual selves.

The best will be given Heaven at the times of the rapture...the remaining 'not so good' will be here to face the tribulations, and eventually Hell.
