I'm told tonight by a lanlord that the gpovernment are being taken to the Ct. Of HMN. RTs. as the ban is illegal.. As much as I dissaprove of the way this ban is being carried out I can't see any appeal Succeeding.. otherwise what next... Crack Cocaine.

I totally agree withe whole "second hand smoke is bad for you" as a person who grew up with a mother who smoked 2 packs a day and I had asthma( which miraculously disappeared when I moved out) I am all for banning smoking in public places.
However the part of smoking that I HATE is the butts all over the ground and everywhere. Smokers are disrespectful. It is disgusting. We went to the beach in Florida last year and it was like walking in an ashtray. Look on the ground outside any store or in a park or anywhere, butts are all around. Drive behind someone smoking, where do they toss their butts? Not in their ashtray (seems they can't stand to look at it either) No, they toss it outside into MY NATURE. Disgusting!!!
I am all for these bands cause I am sick of living in an ashtray!

I think the ban is good because I an only 13 and hate the smell but it is summer now and the time to sit outside but all the smokers are having to sit outside so that isnt always good. I could have lived without the ban but it is good in one way bad in another. There should be special pubs just for smokers and no non-smokers unless they are ok with it.

Was in Wales last month and fair to say there were more people outside the pubs than in it.
Local people were complaining about the no. of smokers in the street and the mess they had left behind them .Culture shock for smokers but they will get used to it .

Were ok i guess..
Just not good when its raining and you have to stand outside the door way :[
But as im 15, on a saturday night i dont have to buy cigarrettes i just hop from pub to pub asking ppl outside if i can borrow one..
Obv they cant say they dont smoke or they havent got any :D :D !! So yeh thats an advantage!
On the other hand i dont think ppl are going to quit smoking because they have to stand out side so its pointless !

Well the government and the politically correct brigade will tell you evrything is wonderful

However the pub owners admit to losing trade and everywhere you look there are people smoking outside doorways, you can hardly walk down some city cntre pavements they are chocca with smokers.

I agree with it and I'm a smoker, heard a good one tonight in the pub, a bloke said to me "Us working class had two things after a days work, a pint and a ***" whats next.
As i said i do agree with the non smoking thing, disagree I'm told what to do!

as a smoking scotsman, its just something we had to get used to...it doesn't rain up here all the time so its ok to stand outside when your out in a pub but for a female it can be a bit difficult as you shouldn't leave a drink lying around for obvious reasons...

well being a non-smoker i can't wait for the ban, as i feel it's an infringement on MY human rights to have to breathe in other people's smoke which could potentially give me cancer, and i believe it will make people try to give up more which can only be a good thing, surely?!
