I have heard that there are certain colors not to wear to a wedding. I can not remember which colors not to wear.

As long as you don't look like you are grieving.. black is fine.. i would accessorize with bright earrings or the like... light makeup... stuff like that.

You didn't say what time the wedding is however.. if you are attending a morning/mid afternoon wedding.. don't wear black.. or anything dark... evening black is fine... Have fun!!

Black is fine, specially if the wedding is at night.
If the wedding is during the day it will be better to wear a light color dress.
Just dont wear white in either case, leave white for the bride :)

Black is not a good color to wear to a wedding in the US. Perhaps in other cultures it's OK - but here in the US.

Now's the time to wear something cheery but not too "VA-VA!" Consider a really good suit - or tailored dress. Despite the fact that it's a party - try not to go too splashy. Wait for your own wedding to be the center of attention.

Yes, it's fine. Look at a major fashion forward city like New York. Almost every women will be dressed in black. It's not morbid, but sophisticated and classy. Everyone looks good in black, you'll never stick out in it and it's slimming.

I wear black to almost every wedding I attended. The little black dress is a staple in my closet.

The only colour you cannot wear to a wedding is white. The little black dress is a classic.

Play safe. Wear a neutral color. Black would make you stand out. The only two persons who are supposed to stand out at a wedding are the newly-wed couple. It's THEIR wedding.

Black is not a popular color to wear to weddings because it is associated with mourning. If yours is a glittery black dress, or alluringly cut or very fancy in some way, Im sure it would be fine. A little black dress with no glamor to it is not a good wedding dress

Honestly, it doesn't matter. The whole wedding isn't going to stop just because you're wearing black. At that type of event, there are more important things to be concentrating on.

If you're a guest and it's an evening wedding or a black tie wedding, you absolutely can. I don't think anyone will be focusing on your dress as much as they will be focusing on the bride anyways.

If it's a formal evening wedding, black is acceptable - as long as it's not funeral-y.

If the ceremony takes place before sunset, you should wear another color.
