That kings were ruling by divine right. That they could therefore do no wrong. That success in battle was proof that God was on their side. You get the idea: the whole concept that some people have the right to boss others around for no reason other than a religious one. Surely you can find other examples of the same thing.
Maybe what I'm really saying is that it is inevitably a lie to assert that success or failure are attributable to God's favor. Sometimes it looks more like giving him enough rope with which to hang himself.

The history of Africans & the REAL history of religion. Maybe I shouldn't include the history of Africans simply because it isn't the biggest lie ever told.....because it was never told to begin with.
