No the MTA is now ready to move ahead with this...of course it helps that the mayor is the former head of the MTA.

Yeah, I would definitely write Boxer, Fienstein, and Pelosi about this.

Although the Senate is far less of a top-down hierarchy than the House (and therefore, more difficult to deal with), Boxer and Fienstein do have some influence over the transportation bill. And Pelosi, of course, is the all-powerful Speaker of the House. Nothing even gets scheduled for a vote in that chamber without her approval.

I think SoCal has to show that it is serious - not only about building the subway - but more importantly, that people will actually use it afterwards. There's a belief (myth) that SoCal residents hate public transit. The notion that "even if we build this thing, no one will ride it" is still strong among some members of Congress.

Whoever they are, they must be mighty strong. The Purple line must be awfully heavy.

I'd like a bill number or a link, too. I'll email my CM.

Not that I'd ever use public transportation. But I try to remember you little people.

Paris, do you have a bill number? I'm out of the loop on this one. It always helps to have the bill number when dealing with members of the House or Senate.

You go, MM!

She's right, the subway should be finished.

Beverly Hills stopped it last time, but now it's the MTA being all snotty.
