Does anyone know the best foods for healthy hair growth. I read that healthy hair comes from the inside out, a healthy diet of protein, fresh fruits and vegetables etc. Does anyone have any other tips for growing healthy hair? Do prenatal vitamins really work for growing healthy hair?

Normal hair growth is 1/2 inch per month. You can keep your hair healthy and increase growth to 3/4 inch per month by:
taking vitamins (yes, prenatal are great)
scalp massage
wear you hair up (it protects it from the environment)
get it trimmed on a regular basis (no trims lead to ratty ends and lots of splitting/breakage)
use a satin pillowcase
use a boar bristle brush
do final rinse with distilled water
do not shampoo daily - shampoo only when necessary
avoid metal hair accessories
do not brush or comb hair when damp
don't allow your hair to get caught under you purse strap, coat collars, etc.
if it is windy, restrain your hair (prevents knotting which leads to breaking and splitting)
apply shampoo only to scalp and roots, when you rinse, it will clean balance of hair without drying it out -never pile your hair on your head when shampooing leave it hang
always condition but only apply to hair length...not scalp or roots (ears down is best)
leave in conditioners provide the most protection
after washing you hair, wrap in towel but do not rub hair with towel
if possible, avoid heat appliances: blow dryer, flat irons, etc. - if not, limit exposure
apply extra virgin olive oil to hair...just put a small drop on your hands, rub hands together and then apply to ends only
follow a healthy diet involving all food groups
