Well first you start out by just praying for forgiveness for all the sins in your life, or anything you've done wrong. You tell God your sorry and ask him to come into your heart to stay. Then you have a change of heart, repentance is just that a change of heart, you turn from your sins and start living a life in obedience to Christ, you will know your doing right, if you follow the teachings of the bible. You confess you know God before men, start telling people of the new change in your life, try to show a Christ like life in yourself so that people will just know that something is different about you. Say no to drugs, and things that you know are wrong, if you have done them before and your friends ask you to do something with them you know is wrong. If they ask why, say I've just surrender my life to Christ, I'm trying to get off this path and start a new one. But thanks for asking, but I can't do that anymore. Then walk away nicely. Go to church and be baptized the bible says to be baptized after you are saved. That's pretty much it, you have to be saved first, turn your life around with the help of God, and start anew, start reading your bible and staying daily in the word of God, start praying every day and walking and talking like you think a Christian would. And that's what I can tell you about surrendering your life to Christ.

You can surrender your life to Jesus by praying to him: Confess your sins and following his teachings and the Ten Commandments.Admit to him that you need a saviour and ask him to guide you.
He will show you the way.

If you are serious, then just speak to Him as if He were in the same room with you. Tell Him you want Him to be your Lord and Saviour and that you receive Him into your heart. It is not a difficult process.
When you do, He becomes your Advocate to God the Father. He represents you to Him and you don't need anyone or anything else to do so. Just know you are saved from eternal damnation and let Him change the negatives in you; you will fail at changing them yourself. You do not have the capacity to become that good. No one does and do not allow anyone to tell you so. It is a lie.

Perhaps this prayer will help you do just that:
God, I'm sorry for my sin. I turn from it right now. I thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sin. Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart and life right now. Be my Lord, Savior and friend. Help me to follow you all the days of my life as your disciple. Thank you for forgiving and receiving me right now. Thank you that my sin is forgiven and that I am going to heaven. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
If you truely believe the above as you say it....I beleive you are then saved, and born again. Your life will never again be the same.

By accepting that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour and that when you die you will go to heaven.
Following Jesus is the only thing you can do to surrender yourself to Him. It is the best life you can live and believe me it is no where near boring.

Don't surrender your life, it sounds like you're giving it up to a guy that died over 2000 years ago. There are way better things to do with your time than waste it on religion, but if you must, try to keep your life in balance with your religion, don't let it take you over.

find an apostolic church ...
then, obey the Gospel ... acts 2:38 - 39 ... Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

For Jesus said a man (spirit) must be born again, or he cannot see the kingdom of heaven.
The Kingdom of heaven is here on earth, it was cast down by God the Father who art in heaven, and appeared as His Son, the Living Word of God, the kingdom of heaven, but if you are not born again you can not see it or hear the Words'
To be born again is to be born without knowledge to forget everything you knew or thought you knew about God the Father who is in heaven and be taught all over again with the true bread from heaven, for Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, Moses gave you bread from hell, and they all died. For Jesus said those who save their life will lose it and those who lose their life, for my sake, and for the Word of God shall save it.
To surrender is to repent and believe the Gospel, to have faith in the Word of God, because of His Son, Jesus. You believe in only his Words, and no one else. You eyes are open and your ears here the truth of God the Father, who is in heaven.
For these are my brothers, sisters and mother, it is they who hear the Word of God, and do it.

Confess Jesus Christ your Lord & Savior to God. Believe in your heart Jesus shed His blood for remission of your sins & raised from the dead for your justification.
You need to act out by confessing & believe in your heart. Faith without works is dead & works without faith is dead. You need to do both.
This is total surrendering yourself to the care of Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior & honest commitment from your whole being. This is being born of His Spirit, cleansed by His blood, joint heirs with King Jesus & part of the family of God.

I like the fact that you recognize that it is not a "commitment", but a "surrender".
