Religion has caused a lot of problems, just as it has made the every day Joe happy.
Religion's been around for a long time, yes, but it is weakening. There are more atheists and agnostics in existence than ever before, and proof for religion is starting to become shaky. Realize that religion was stronger in the time that meteor showers were thought to be holy prophecies. It's weaker now that the skies aren't as mysterious.
There's always a possibility that religion will eventually disappear. Probably not in your lifetime, so don't fret, but it eventually will die. Or, new religions will pop up and the old ones will die. It's common place, really.
Now, I've never heard a Christian admit that humans can't bring peace or love; in fact, I've heard Christians say that ONLY Christians can bring peace and love. Atheists are just as capable of compassion, peace, and love. Humans can bring peace and love-those words didn't come from nowhere, after all. There have been too many wars justified by God for anyone to say that God is the only way, and the best way.
It's pure denial and stubbornness that forces a person to write something like this:
Religion will ALWAYS exist and if it ever went away EVERYONE would be killing each other and there would be NO justice because ATHEISTS are PURE EVIL and they lovingly wait for the ANTI-CHRIST...
Throwing around cruel words does nothing to justify a point. It only diminishes your own side's reasoning and, quite frankly, disturbs people like me.

humans can bring peace they just dont. religon is a part of that, a minister i know of, this is true got chucked out of his own church by the rest of the clergy, guess why because he helped towo young boys, i know what your thinking, no, it was because they where black, these where religious people. does that sound like love and tolernace to you, well HA we need to come together to sort things out not rely in your magical sky daddy to come and sort it out for us
look at bill gates he's given something crazy like 35 Billion to charity or something he's an atheist, i think he's doing a lot of good work there don't you? well then atheists are kind and gentle people prehaps you should spend a little time with some to get to know this, so that you don't go on thinking like this its wrong in fact its un christian
we could sort povity if we wanted it just needs money time and effort, not god
we could sort global terrorism, infact its practically all because of religion so no problem and that which is purely political then we can sort that by talking and tolerating each other
we can bring peace by calling a halt to the war
heres a good one, george bush started a war he didn't bring peace to the world by doing that, if we stopped religon there wouldn't be nearly as much need if we all abided by certian standards, yes what john lennon sings about is an idiology but so is religion, i think you are delusional, but I challenge you to live with a family of atheists and get some respect for other people you might find they are really very nice people "normal " even by your standards think about it, nice enough people really all an atheist is is a person that believes in one less god than you

People who say "the real problem is religion" don't really think that the real problem is religion.
That, for them, is just their cover. They want religion out of the way -- not because they think it's a problem, but because it teaches certain moral things that they just don't want to hear.
Religion's moral teachings make these people very uncomfortable -- maybe even guilty -- about some of the things they do.
But rather than maybe change their ways, they instead choose to rationalize their behavior by tearing down that which condems it -- religion.
So they buy into this whole idea that religion is the cause of all this violence and division in the world.
History tells us that a lack of religion -- not the presence of it -- has caused the vast majority of the world's bloodshed.
But this doesn't matter when you've got an agenda. It doesn't matter for people who've got a psychological need to get religion out of the way so that they can feel better about their lifestyles. Never mind the truth.

Eisenhower said in his farewell speech that it was dangerous to give the government the power of the people, implying that to do so would result in a militaristic state. I believe what he said is true. To expand on that, to turn over the reins to a unified world government would eventually result in a militarized world state. The state I live in can't figure out how to make public schools work, and it's geting worse because of ineffective leaders and additional bueracracy. "Imagine" how long it would take my local school district to get approval for more teachers if it had to go through a world gov't. An entire generation could go without teachers.

Yes. There are more religious people in the world than those who are not. And these religious people does not even want that their own religion will interfere with their sinning. These are "religious Sinners". Christianity is not a religion. It is a life 60 minutes per hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Thats why Christians always herald the good news of salvation in Christ Jesus for eternal life for everyone.
The extent of provision is for every one, but the extent of application is for those who will recieve the good news only.

A One-World Religion is not delusional. It is exactly what the Bible predicts and that anti-christ will establish.
Take the mark of the beast, and check your brains at the door.
Welcome to government control of ALL THINGS.
Excuse, me, I have to go answer the door; the Thought Police are here.

Why all the judgement as if you know the hearts of all athiests.
Athiests are not always unspiritual.
God says love your neighbour as yourself, doesnt he?
Athiests are often people persons and loving your neighbour and your enemy is the way to love yourself and then ultimately to love god.
We dont need to believe in Jesus or the ultimate monotheistic ruler to feel connected to people.
A buddhist and a christian may both reach the same level of deep contemplation when respectively meditating and praying but they dont call it the same thing.
Religion is not causing the worlds grief, it is a conduit through which the worlds grief acts, so therefore we humans want to create strife for ourselves so we look for ways to create grieveances to disconnect ourselves from love for other humans and therefore GOD. The selfishness of our egos create this divide as we are still not all mature enough to tolerate people.
If everyone tomorrow loved all their enemies, great and small, totally accepting them without any hint of reservation, we would all be in heaven on earth but because we cannot forgive ourselves for not being perfect we create barriers to our own inner children. We create our own hell.
Its just humans not religion.
Religion is the flawed interpretation of the source of creation.
Notice i said flawed not false. We arent perfect.

I think the problem is religion too. Like Iraq war=some Islam people suiciding. And I believe that no one's going to kill everyone or make a huge nuclear bomb to bomb the whole earth or something. Since no human is perfect, human cannot bring peace; therefore, Chritians waits for second coming of perfect being, Jesus who will end the evil.

You're a bit delusional, aren't you? We need to give up religion, greed and ideology. Get your nose out of the book The Revelations of St. John and make a difference in the world. Peace begins with you and how you treat your neighbors.

Religion certainly causes some problems. No one can deny that. Not having religion in the world would appear to resolve those problems.
As I have said repeatedly, failing to address the world's issues ourselves while waiting for some all powerful magician to come along and fix everything is dangerous and counterproductive. The Bible never says that humans won't have to work to fix the world's problems themselves, even if some Messiah did return.
