The problem I see here is that by living together without being married, you expose yourself to a great temptation. You abstain from sex but for how long? In my opinion, it is a matter of time. It is normal to want to be close to someone (physically) if you love him/her very much, therefore, living together puts you in a situation where it is very difficult to withstand such temptation. Also, you guys both know you don't do anything wrong because you abstain from the physical aspect. However, no one will believe you if you tell them - the world assumes you are having sex even if you don't. Therefore a lot is about how you want your family/friends/church to view you as. As sucky as it is, it is not what the reality is really like but what it appears to be. And in your case, the appearance is - yeah, these two must be having sex. Why don't you want to get married and make everything right? You will then live without the guilt. Good luck to you both!

No, it wouldn't be. I am a Christian and I personally do not consider two people in a loving relationship having sex to be sin either. But even if you take the traditional Christian legalistic viewpoint, how on earth could it be a sin to just live together if you're not having sex? Does that mean I can never live with someone who is a guy even if we're just roommates?

No, this is not a sin. This would be a temptation. We are not suppose to put ourselves into temptation. This could also hurt your witness. If you live with some and are not married, then this could cause other people to stumble. We are to live in a way that Glorifies God. If you live like this you will pray about every big decision, before you do it. I would only say this is ok to do if when you pray the Holy Spirit is guiding you to do it.
Have a Blessed Day!

They abstain from sex? ANY sexual act together? Then that is not a sin, it is a platonic relationship. If, however, they indulge in sex games, or if one even desires the other sexually, then that person is sinning, as Jesus said (Matt. 5:28). Better to avoid the temptation. Nevertheless, if these temptations don't arise, then it truly is not a sin.
May God bless you if you search for Him.

I don't see how it would be physically possible for a man and a woman who are in love with each other to live together and NOT have sex.
God created us to have sex in a meaningful and loving marriage, and to raise children in said environment.
In ancient Israel, one of the signs of marriage was when a man would bring the woman to his home to live with him. There was no such thing as cohabitation.
Even King Solomon, who had numerous wives and concubines, was considered married to each of those women (but we won't get into that- it's a whole other diatribe :D).
So no, I do not think it would be wise for people who wish to please God to live together without being married. It is simply too tempting of a situation to get oneself into.

Nope...no sin, but they are not setting a good example for others. Others may decide that they have an equal amount of self control and try this arrangement and fail.

No. Nowhere in the bible or any other text is love forbidden. What is forbidden is illicit sex. Illicit sex is sex for purposes other than procreation, either within the marriage or outside of marriage.

Blatant sinful lifestyle? No.
But that type of lifestyle would stumble young believers and legalistic believers.
Stumbling others is also a sin.
