That's assuming he ever existed in the first place....
Better to say that they've obviated the need for a god or gods.

No but it has been enough to make a lot of people squirm.
When i was young everybody went to church, if you didn't you were considered a misfit.
Nowadays lots of churches have vanished, some converted into housing, even pubs.
The congregation, is a fraction of the percentage it used to be.
Times and technologies change. Especially over the last 70 years or so.
If religion does not want to participate in technology and science, that is their right.

There is only path and those who stray will be judged accordingly.
Times are changing revolution is in the air.
Perhaps religious people should forfeit any future benifits that science brings forward to the future of mankind.
Go live in a forest and farm potatoes and be contented, in the fact that you are saved and that you will go to heaven.
Ignorance is bliss ahhhhh!!!!
Anyone anoyed by these comments, simply attach positive unequivical proof that a higher power/ deity exists and i will print off the page and eat it for my tea.

They have disproven many religious theories about the origins of man, and the nature of life, yes.
But the bible was disproven long before science came along, anyway. (See Jesus' prophecy of the end times, which was to come within the lifetime of the apostles) But that didn't stop people from believing it, anyway. There are always people who value blissful ignorance over the truth.

when modern science can create a single cell from nothingness, a cell that is capable of respiration, irritability, and reproduction, and science can make it look like an accident, a lucky circumstance that could occur in nature, then I will have a major question about whether creation requires a Supreme Being.
til then, I believe in a God that created the heavens and earth. But---I don't believe that Christians have an exclusive hammerlock on reality.

You can't kill something that never existed. All these things have thankfully allowed people to see the truth. So no I don't think you're right

No.
If you were born on a deserted island and lived to be self-sufficient, you would only know those things you were taught.
"God" would not exist.
That is the simplest answer to those who question these things.
You don't know about it until someone tells you.

Can't kill what never lived. Did those things kill the IDEA of god? Sadly, not yet.
