I don't ever worm my dogs unless I KNOW they have worms. In the last 25 years of owning dogs, competing on a regular basis at shows and trials all over the nation, I have never had to worm them.

Because they are registered therapy dogs, they are tested regularly and they have not once tested positive. Worming your dogs "just because" is an unneccessary ritual fueled by Old Wives Tales . . . not all puppies have worms, and not all dogs have worms. Do you ingest chemicals every 3 months just because the person down the block does??

Hi,
if your dog hunts or scavenges, eats raw meat or has contact with children you should treat for worms every 3–4 weeks. It may be safe to worm your dog every 3 months if none of these risk apply

Puppies should be regularly wormed until 12 weeks old, from then until 6 months it should be monthly & from 6 months on it should be between every three months to once a year.

Every 3-4 months. Get the worming tablet from your vet - over-the-counter dewormers are less effective.

Usually every three months. Fleas are carriers of tapeworms so if your dog has them it is wise to treat for worms too. With my dogs I give them garlic powder sprinkled on their food each day 1tsp. this helps them be more resistant to parasitic infestation. You can also use 1/2 - 2 cloves fresh garlic depending on size of dog. If you include extras like pumpkin seeds/dried coconut/grated carrot/oatmeal to their food this provides roughage which helps to carry worms out of the intestines. Each day I add vegetables or water they were cooked in to increase their roughage. They love it too.

if you buy your worming tablets at the vets then it's every 6 months as they're stronger than the ones you get at the pet stores.

Depends on the medicine used and your dog's activities. If dog is outside most of the time, especially if he is near other dogs you need to do it at least every two years. Watch for symptoms. I do mine every year but I have 40+ sled dogs who are exposed to many wild critters.

Always watch for symptoms; por eating, loose stool, itchy butt.
