For all males other than myself, yes.

yes, but what i believe and what i practice are far from each other.
I am a firm believer in abstinence. It is the only proven form of birth control and the only way to prevent STDs There is no other way. Condoms don't work, neither do sponges pills or injections.
Like Momo said all those years ago, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

yes and I believe the rest of the world does also. What people want to say usually is that because someone has an urge say for sex that abstinence is unhealthy or unable to be done since it is a natural instinct controlled by hormones. But so is fight or flight and yet we penalize people for not abstaining from these natural hormone driven impulses.

As a rule I like to wait tilI know someone before I jump in the sack, but for how long?

I think sex is an important part of the marital experience but there are two sides.

A) both parties wait and abstain, and build their anticipation level sky high because thats all they are really getting married for anyway. Then on wedding night they are either 1 clueless, 2 disappointed 3 disgusted you get the idea.

B) Both parties are soul mates first and are happy to wait Since they have nothing to compare one another to they go on to develop a healthy experimental phase of their lives together feeling that they have "GOD's blessing"

You decide which would apply to you

Yes i do. I have been abstinant for a long time now. Now that i know that sex before marriage is wrong and a sin, i dont do it anymore. its not hard to be abstinant I just remove myself from certain situations.

Yes, I do.

My husband and I were virgins when we got married, and it was a wonderful gift that we were able to give each other.

It wasn't easy, but if you avoid situations where you may be tempted it is much easier.

And, in case anyone is curious, there are NO perversions or ill effects/performance problems, etc. from waiting until marriage. We have been perfecting our technique for almost 2 years and, I must say, think we have made up for "lost time" QUITE WELL :D
(Our long suffering neighbors would probably agree as well!)

Yes, I believe there is such a thing as abstinence.

It happens every day, so it is impossible to not believe in it. I personally did not practice it, but there are many people who do. This is good though because we need to control the human population somehow.

It s a great idea but its not realistic in this day and age. who knows when some one will get married what if your like that guy the forty year old virgin there is no real reason for it unless your a nun.

yes i do...waiting to have sex til marriage is not an easy thing at all, but it is more than worth it. Unfortunately i made mistakes in my past and decided not to wait...but i put an end to that....It is a gift from God for two people(a husband and wife) to have such an intimate relationship with each other...and with that is a blessing, and you both have extra trust in one another. I wish i would have waited.

No, it causes health problems. Seriously. Lack of sexual activity in a healthy adult can cause some serious depression, and regular sex helps boost the immune system. The only thing that abstinence promotes is sexual repression. Now, I'm not sitting here promoting promiscuous sex, but sex within a monogamous relationship, especially if the couple's not married should not be viewed as bad.
