Our last name is Tarantina and the middle name will probably be Anthony (St. Anthony of Padua). I put links in with the saint's story if you are interested.

We like these saint names for our baby:
Blaise (prounounced "Blaze", http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintb04.htm)
Carter (okay, not a saint YET... http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintw14.htm)
Blane (http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintb79.htm)
Corbin (http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintc7n.htm)
Michael (http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintm06.htm)
Noah (Old Testament Patriarchs are still saints!)
Jonah (same note)
Sebastian (http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saints03.htm)

My concerns about the names above include a nickname for Sebastian (doesn't it sound too much like a bad word?) and the meaning of the name Blaise is crippled/stutters. Should I care about a name's meaning?

We are also open to other saints' names that are not listed. Your feedback is much appreciated! Thank you!

It's refreshing to see a couple picking out a saint's name for their child. Michael is good, if not, how about:

Nickolas,

Vincent, or

Jerome.

God bless.

Some of those are nice.. Or you could use a classic Biblical name like Daniel, Elijah or John. (Given those are a bit boring). Or Anthony as the first name, I really like the name Anthony. I think Sebastian and Blaise are unfortunate sounding names.. Corbin and Carter are also kind of ugly names. I'd pick Noah (I once knew a really cute little kid named Noah), Michael or Blane. In general I also like the name Colin and Liam. I don't think the meaning of a name matters much if at all! Hope you the right name comes to you!

Proverbs 22:1
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Ecclesiastes 7:1
A good name is better than precious ointment;

How about "Mark" or Marc / Marcus.
Not only a saint but an Evangelist; a fellow traveler of Paul and Barnabas as the Gospel spread through Asia and Europe. (The Gospel of Mark was written by John Mark.)

"Marcus Antonio Tarantina" (depending upon how Italian you want it to be)
...and the combo of Mark Anthony would be historic.
