crushing pills?

i have to give my guinea pig pills but i ned to crush them.... i dont have a pill crusher..... whats an effective way to get the same effect/// im not sure the best way to do it because i dont want big chuncks in it

get a sip lock baggie, put the pill inside, wrap the baggie with a cloth or kitchen towel once, then with a hammer or something similiar, you pound it and grind it and enjoy.

Put a little honey (or something sticky that the guinea pig likes) on the tablet and put it in a spoon. Place another spoon over the first and apply pressure. The pressure of the two spoons together tends to crush the tablet and the sticky substance keeps it from flying all over the place.

Then rub the paste between the two spoons to grind the chunks down to a small bit.

It depends on the type of pill that it is. Some pills crushing them is fine but others it isn't. You need to check with your pharmacist on other ways to take your prescriptions. Good Luck!

Grab two spoons. Hold one spoon, place the pill in the middle of the spoon and rest the other spoon right on top exactly in the same direction. Then squeeze. The pill will crush, no mess and the spoon will be ready to deposit the medicine where you wish.

Try putting it in a sandwich and using something heavy like a rolling pin or bottled water to crush it. Then just snip the bottom of the bag to sprinkle it where it needs to go. If you pour it from the top some of it will likely get trapped in the zipper part of the bag.

Use the blade of a knife...the broad side. It will give you good coverage over the pill and it should crush it pretty well. Or you could use a mortar and pestle if you have one.

Place the pill in a Ziploc plastic bag and then give it to 'er with a spoon to break it up. By placing it in the bag, you won't lose any of it!

use the back of one of the spoons to push down hard on the pill and repeat until all the chunky bits disappear.

put the pill in between a piece of saran and use a hammer to crush it .... it should break pretty evenly and crush into a powder....if you don't have a hammer , use a rolling pin...
