Well, My Boyfriend and i have been going out for a while now, and everything is ok but for some reason he is always acting silly and making silly voices and doing weird things ALL DAY long, and once in a while is ok, but he does it all day long and to be quite frank its actually starting to annoy me, i try to tell him to be a lil more serious but then he gets offended and says thats the way he is and thats the way he was when i got with him. i told him he used to be more serious and not so goofy but he says its because he has gotten more comfortable. i know its okay to play around sometimes but everything he says is in a funny voice, or something just plain out weird. is there anyway i can work with this problem its kinda driving me nuts!

well he has not changed. he is only showing you who he really is...and unfortunately you dont care much for it. its something you will have to either deal with or leave just leave him alone. he is who he is and you can not change people. they have to change for themselves. and he obviously likes being silly. may be you dont mesh as well as you thought.

If he is annoying you now and this is how he is, how are you going to feel three months from now, when he is still doing his voices. If he plans on being a comedian that is one thing to practice your craft a lot, but for just no reason. If he is driving you nuts this may not be the guy for you. You may be looking for someone who has a serious side, but still wants to have fun and enjoy life and you.

seems like he is being honest like he is comfortable with you!
that is who he is then! it may seem rude but it's not if you really can't stand it to the point where it bugs you to no end maybe he isn't the one!

you said something in your question "I try to tell himn to be a lil more serious"

try not trying and do it tell him... tell him in a way that isn't offenceve!
eg:
I feel unsure and uneasy when you hold serious conversation in a goofy way, I understand that this is your way to not take so much pressure when someting serious is on the ropes however I need that reassurance of you being sencer with me at least at one point in the conversation. then you can be silly again!

at that time you block out the silly stuff and retain the real stuff!

Sounds like he may be a little too immature for you...tell him how serious you are and how bad it is annoying you and he should realize that it may hurt your guy's relationship. The only thing you can do is tell him how you feel...if he's not willing to listen to you, then it sounds like he doesn't care...

Good luck!

Just ask him politely to tone it down when he's with you, or else things aren't going to work--that he's the person you want to be with, not the person to whom the ridiculous voices belong.

I suggest that u talked to him again and tell him that this is really really bothering you, and you are not apprecitating the fact that he is not listening to how you really feel about this and that if he can't listen to you and understand your feelings on the issue, what's the use of the realtionship?

The only thing you can do is let him know how much this bothers you and see how he responds. If this truly is who he is though it would be wrong of you to try to change him.

Make sure you show him with your verbal and nonverbal cues that you are less amused. I tell you this. You don't want to be with a guy who is totally oblivious to verbal and nonverbal communication.

tell him nicely, that you don't mind his silliness, but that all the time does tend to get annoying. If you are not honest, it will never stop.
