For my dance with my step-dad I am going to use "He didn't have to be" by Brad Paisly. It is actually a man talking but the sentimate is what I want to say.

I used my girl by the temptations. I thought it was perfect b/c it doesn't sound like the father is competeing with the new husband. I think thats what the i loved her first one sounds like....personally I don't get why it matters who loved who first, I mean everyone loves each other now right!
if you want other suggestions, go to www.ourweddingsongs.com
Its a list of ideas for all parts of the ceremony and reception and REALLY helped me out when I was workin on my playlist!

If you are looking for a sweet slow song, you might consider Butterfly Kisses (I cannot remember who sings it). It is a wonderful song sung by a father who is watching his little girl grow up and then gives her away at the wedding.
Also, a little less obvious, but still a great song is I'll Be Here by Steven Curtis Chapman on his All About Love CD.

Lyrics
They say miracles don’t happen every day
But in my heart I know that isn’t true
There are blessings that are more than merely miracles
And every day…in every way
That blessing is you
CHORUS
You stepped into my life
When I needed you most
Growing so close
You shared my tears and my laughter
You opened my eyes
To the kind of love you give
And your love will live
In my heart forever after
There are heroes in this world who go unsung
Yet they touch so many lives along their way
With no spotlight no applause…they’re like shining stars
And every day… in every way
You’re my hero
Life isn’t always easy
But you’ve never turned away
And deep inside I know
I’ll always bless the day…
JUST WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST by Kimaya Seward

There is a song my sister danced to that is somewhere along the lines of "if there weren't little girls, what would little boys do?" that made a cute father-daughter dance.

1st Verse
Without your love and sacrifice
I wonder where I would be
You gave your thoughts and good advice
You cared for me so tenderly
I want you to know
That you'll always be
For eternity
My Daddy
(chorus)
You were there for my first steps
and there for my first words
As you dance this first dance with me
Remember you'll always be Dad.
2nd Verse
You stood today, gave me away
To be a husbands wife
But I will not forget you Dad
Although I start a new life
In my heart gladly
You will always be
Yes, you'll always be
My Daddy.
