Is the other dog lactating too. If so then there is no reason she cant as long as she will accept them. I used to work for a breeder and a lot of times if one mom had a big littler we would foster some of them on other moms. Also if you have to you can go get some puppy milk and a bottle and supplemental feed them if you notice that they are not getting full. If you have to you can use a warm wash cloth to simulate the mothers tounge and bath them yourself. If is especially important if you do this to make sure you wipe their little privates as that is how they know to pee and poop when they are little. Hope this advice helps. Good luck.

Well what about the other dog? Does she have milk, other babies? She can't feed them if she doesn't have milk. She could hurt the babies. You may have to bottle feed some of the babies. Is this a large breed dog? My blue heeler had 9 pups a few tears ago and she raised all 9 without any problems.

has your other dog recently had puppies? once you allow this other dog to clean the puppies you are at risk of the birth mother rejecting them.. How old is your dog that just had puppies?
