Im engaged and going to be 23, I have a 3 month old baby. Ive been a stay at home mother so far but I need an education to get beyond anything I can do right now. My fiance travels for work often and last minute usually. Childcare is so expensive here that any job based on my current education would only allow me to pay for childcare so I could work. How can I manage going to school and working and paying for childcare/babysitters for both?

I believe my parents technically still have to submit their incomes for me to get financial aid still at my age? Maybe not?
What kind of financial aid situation would I be looking at? Any mothers out there who were in the same situation? Any advice you can offer?

No, you do not have to submit your parents income on this because you are an independent student since you have a three month old baby. It is one of the qualifications as an independent student under FAFSA. An idea might be to talk to your local workforce/Department of Human Services and see if you can get some childcare assistance. Another way around the childcare problem is taking your courses online through the community college because most offer distance learning courses towards a major. I will include some links which should help.

you dont need to submit your parents info because you have a child, it will only look at your income. Once you get married, your husbands will be added in and you will lose some of your aid-especially if he makes a decent income. If I were you, I would stay engaged until my education was finished but many others would not agree

Ok if you are living on your own then you don't need to submit your parents financial info. But if you are living with your fiancee then you will need to submit his info. You will be able to get financial aid, my husband has been getting the Pell grant for school for all the semesters he's been in school. Apply for everything you can, the Pell grant, any financial aid, anything you can find, apply for it. You may want to go to your local DFS (division of family support) and see about getting aid for child care. You will have to submit financial info there as well. But you could end up with free or low cost child care and the child care institutuion has to be licensed (at least they do in Missouri). I'm in the same situation you are in. But I'm 27, I have 2 kids and I'm married. But I'm wanting to go back to school so that I have a degree and can go and get a job once both of my children are in school. I'll be looking for financial aid within the next year. Its going to be hard going to school and working and still being home with your child, but its worth it to be able to provide the best life you can for your child. Good luck to you!! Congrats on the baby!! Good luck in school!!!

the help for a mom is meant to assist seize up on the cost of elevating the new child on an identical time as no longer being waiting to artwork and earn because of the fact of going to college. given which you're no longer elevating the new child you do not have that extra beneficial fee. yet of direction the entire help ingredient is a scam on the taxpayer who could foot the bill for somebody else's training. i think of that in case you want an training, you're able to pay for it and not anticipate the taxpayer to do it. little ones could have no longer something to do with it. by utilising the way, i'm hoping you do no longer plan to special in spelling and grammar.

fill out the FAFSA form. you can get loans for your schooling. your state may have aid available for daycare expenses base on your income. you will need to contact some daycares to see if there are any programs out there. we did it and it paid for part of daycare. my wife got loans when she went back to school..
