do NOT use pee pads. They encourage your dog to pee inside and that it's OK. Potty training takes work just like dogs do. First of all she should either be in a crate of in the same room as you at all times. This way you always have an eye on her. If she sneaks off them put her on a leash and tie her to something nearby. When she starts to go yell NO!, this should get her attention. Run her outside and let her go outside( I would use a command like "get busy") when she goes praise her. Slowly you can give her more freedom as long as you watch her.
Most dogs have a specific amount of time after eating when they need to go. Time her and take her out at that time after eating. Do not free feed either or you will never know when she ate and needs to go. For now don't free water either. Give her water at certain times or when she needs it and know when she will need to go outside. Always take her potty before you go to work or leave the house and before bed time. Do not allow food or water 2 to 3 hours before she goes to bed.

Personally i never used a pad at all. I just took the puppy out every 30 minutes, and eventually she understood that 'outside' was the place to do it. Grab the dog in the middle of the peeing if she pees in the house. She will automatically stop peeing when you pick her up. Keep her in a small area, she should NOT have the run of the house. Gate her in whatever room you are in at the time so you can keep an eye on her. That is the best way.
If you use pads, she will think on some level that she is ALLOWED to pee in the house. Then it is harder to break the habit.
Good luck! And make SURE you PRAISE her highly when she pees outside. Fluff her head, pet her and say GOOD GIRL!
Just don't yell at her at all when she pees in the house. Just pick her up and say noooooo in a firm but loud voice. And IMMEDIATELY take her outside.
The general rule is to take a puppy outside every 30 minutes.
It gets easier, after a few weeks you can take her out every hour, and it will get longer and longer. You'll see.
Use a crate when you are not home. As a rule, the puppy won't pee in that small space.

I just went through the puppy stages too and what I did was every 20 minutes, I took him outside. I would tell him repeatedly "go potty outside" and when he would go, I would praise him ALOT and give him a cookie. MAke sure to be consistent. When he would go in the house, I said "NO" to get his attention, and take him out real fast. Then when he finishes what he is doing outside, lots of praise! When you see that he went in the house and you didn't see it, don't scold him. He won't remember. Only say NO when you catch him the act. NEVER, hurt the puppy. Make sure to get up at night at least every 4 hours to let him/her out until he's over 16 wks and then every 6 hrs or so. It's hard training a puppy, isn't it?!?!

It can be counter productive to teach a pup to go on pee pads or newspaper inside. They just learn that one should relieve oneself in the house.
Your best bet is to crate train your puppy. Don't leave her in it all the time, just overnight and when you can't be watching her. Let her take naps in there.
Every time she comes out of the crate take her outside. Wait until she relieves herself before coming back in.
The next thing is to take her out 10 to 20 minutes after eating or drinking and stay out with her until she relieves herself. If she relieves herself sooner, take her out sooner than 10 minutes. Pay attention to her personal schedule.
Take her out at least once an hour while she's awake. Always take her to the same spot outside so that she will smell her previous "business" and get the idea. If she goes in less than an hour, take her out more often when she is awake.
Be sure to clean your carpets with an enzymatic cleaner. You may not be able to smell her accidents, but she can, even after cleaning, and that will tempt her to go there again.
Also, young puppies should not have free access to the house. Keep her near you, in a puppy pen or close doors to rooms you don't want her to pee in. ;-)

Puppy Pads. They have a unique sent that attracts the dog. It will go there. Or a litter box with scented stones in it. You could also try a litter box and put its favorite food in it. (But I don't know if you'd want it to go on the food!) But the food is just to attract the dog.
My dog does a special bark to let me know she needs to go.
I trained her that way. You could also put bells on the door that the dog can reach. Ring the bells and bring her outside to go. Do this several times and she will get the idea to ring the bells.
Your dog may get used to a few training skills or the puppy pads. But it's good to test each one out 1 at a time.

You don't need any 'product' to help your dog learn to go outside, you just need good training. Teaching a dog to go outside can take awhile, so be patient. First, when your puppy goes to the bathroom inside scold them using a firm 'no'. If you use other words like 'What did you do', or 'Look what you've done," you tend to change what you say each time confusing the puppy, all you need is a no. Immediately place the puppy outside on the grass for about 10 minutes. ( I used a tie-out for my dog so I could go back inside and clean up) If you see your puppy go to the bathroom outside make sure you praise him up using verbal praises like 'good boy' and 'yes'. It will take a long time, but eventually the puppy will catch on. It could take up to a month, but terriers are smart puppies and could catch on quicker.

Use a pee pee pad (you find these at pet smart ec.) if goes on rugs , floor ec. show it to them and put them outside admittedly,if dog potty's when not home DO NOT punish the dog ,dogs have a VERY VERY small attention spand so that will not remember what they did or that they did it so you must catch them in the act
