If you push into the right side, it should hurt more when you "release" pressure. I would get into the doc asap...
I was having slight pains on a Friday...went in...assistant told me I just had gas...saw regular doc on following Tuesday. Appendix had ruptured while in surgery...spent the worst week of my life in the hospital....
I would get to the doc, better to be safe than sorry...

Appendicitis pain is generally in the lower right quadrant of the abdomen, so that means it would be on your right side, well below your ribcage.
One interesting test is to press on it, and then release. It's not uncommon with appendicitis to get what's called "rebound pain" where it doesn't really hurt to press on it, but when you release it hurts really bad.
In any case if this pain persists you should have it investigated by a doctor. Appendicitis is harmless if treated in a timely fashion but a mess if left too long.

You will know if you push on that area and the pain is unbearable. Now remember bad cases of Gastristis can cause pain that is a lot like appendicitis. I wouldn't fool around with it. I would get to the doctor asap or the ER.

If the pain gets worse, then go to the ER, you could become very ill if your appendix ruptures. Appendix pain will get worse, not subside.
Look up mcburneys point, I think it's called, there is some test you can do by pressing on a point in your stomach to see if that's it.

generally for appendicitis it is more hours of pain evolution, but you don't have to discard out completely, so i would recommend that you see a doctor, appendicitis it is not the only thing that can cause you pain in that area, so see a doctor

Above is description of symptoms.
An old country doctor told my son to stand up, jump up. If he didn't crumble and fall to the floor after jumping up in the air, then it wasn't appendicitis.
Try lying on your right side, right leg straight, left leg bent at the knee (if it is a build up of gas, you will pass it).

Could just be a bad case of gastritis, but in this case you shouldn't take any chances. See your doctor or get into the ER or urgent care right away.

GO TO THE ER, WE ARE NOT DOCTORS. Even if we were, you cannot diagnose things via the internet.
