I know this sounds lame, but she can help with something. She really wants to get involved in stopping global warming. We are located in Texas and I don't want her to be too far from home but I would like her to help. Please help me find a camp for her.

Unfortunately to stop the component of Global Warming that is caused by human activity would require that we ban the use of all fossil fuels worldwide.

Such a ban is not politically or militarily possible. Essentially it is not realistic.

I recommend a good science camp that is devoted to learning about science and the scientific method. That will give her a basic foundation in science that will help her all through high school and college.

A camp devoted to stopping Global Warming will not give her that or anything else that will be useful to her in the future.

Any camp that makes her love nature, helps the world. To stop global warming, punctual efforts have too little impact. Building conscience and plain love for nature is the best way to go.
Just let her have fun and appreciate nature, and you'll be helping all of us. You don't necessarily need to send her to an Environmental camp.

She could help habitat for humanity. They're building houses in Texas and maybe you can find a church group for her to participate with or you could volunteer too. Think globally act locally.

Send her to live/work on a farm. Farmers are the original "green" people, she can get true appreciation of living as part of Nature.

It says in "A Course In Miracles", that if you see the world as in need of saving- You are the one projecting "lack" upon IT.
