Someone's asking how many red marks does my friend's shih tzu have. I don't what she's referring to.
Does higher red marks mean the dog's of a better breed?

The only thing I can think of is that Champion titled dogs in a pedigree are often printed in red ink. Obviously, the more "red" in the pedigree, the more quality behind the dog.

I have searched nearly everywhere looking for an answer to your question. I have found that the term "red mark" has been used only in classifieds selling shih tzu puppies, and this means it is probably a fake term coined for representing some kind of specialty bloodline. Unfortunately, this term is only used in ads for unreputable breeders. After searching the American Shih Tzu Club along with the American Kennel Club, I have found nothing that stood behind this term.
