Need valid answers please. Not 'it' doesn't feel pain, conciousness etc. because that's not true! Humans have it in their being. Conception, though some may not survive it, as in life, is day1. Killing upto week 24 of existance or beyond, why? I understand if mother may physically die. But why for mental reasons? If she's mental, why not lock her up, Why alow her to kill? If she is prepared to kill herself, why not let her, she wants to kill another, isn't it justice? Pregnancy is not a violation of the body, it's not an illness, why do doctors do the killing? It's surely doing harm, it's murder.
It's all about money isn't it? Birth, pain relief, keeping sick babies alive, state benefit to those in need, all costs. A sick baby can be totally sedated- no need for murder. DRs read scans wrong & humans can overcome sever conditions- if given a chance. We can't predict the future, so welfare of the child is no excuse + we have adoption. Things change constantly, except this stupid law!

BECAUSE THEY ARE BELIGERENT B*#*#*S!!!!!
Menstruation: act of life. Abortion & murder: act of man. Rape: act of man-but not the new lifes fault. Egg & sperm are not humans the w@*rs put them together & we have a human. Time tells them this. Just like it will kill or cure them in the end. Don't feel pity for them, just know better & don't do it youself. It is money 'n' power. They all want the nice things in life. But don't want the responsibilities of their actions to cost them.
The developing world would not be in the mess it was now if it was not for them. Give a pigeon in a desert food it will breed like mad. Take away its eggs it will still breed like mad even more so. Do not give it the food & sooner or later it won't be able to breed. It will only be able to sustain a population on the food it can find. Which leaves less mouths to feed & less pigeons to breed 'n' die or overpopulate.

I do not agree with abortion, however I am pro-choice. I think you can do with your body whatever you want.
Think about it though, there are so many millions of children starving and dying every day because their mothers did not get an abortion, I think that thier pain would have been much less if they weren't born.
With the millions that AREN'T aborted and are starving, what if abortion were illegal? Think about the millions more every day that would be born every year that wouldn't be taken care of. Yes, there are people who want to adopt children, but there are only so many people who can. If abortion were not legal, there would be so many homeless and needy children, no body would be able to or have the resources to help. We have problems taking care of the needy childen right now!
Also, a big reason why abortion is legal, is because people will do it no matter what. They will go to secret, unlicensed clinics, and get a dirty procedure that may cause them to get sick, and then that's just more doctor bills to be paid by the government. And then think about all the people who would get arrested and put in jail over an illegal abortion, the jails are already overcrowed now with drug dealers and rapists, and serial killers who kill just for the fun of it.
It's really not logical to outlaw abortion. The people who abort their children will pay for it in the end, and that is the decision that they have to face when they get pregnant.
It's complicated now, but think of how much more complicated it can get...

I can see this issue is causing you a great deal of anguish. I feel for your distress.
To some of the issues you raise, first I don't think its about money at all. For years women have chosen to abort their pregnancies. For a variety of reasons, usually they just don't want /are not ready to go thru a pregnancy and take on the job of raising a child - or the difficulty of giving it away to someone else.
I'm a little bothered about the Catholic Church characterising this by picturing a 6 months old, gurgling baby and saying you're killing it. Aborting a pregnancy is not the same as killing a new-born baby. I hate to aggrevate any sense of guilt, but by the reasoning of some Catholics about potential life, you could say that every egg in a women's womb is life and a potential baby with blue eyes & a cute smile & wiggles.
Yet every woman will "abort" some 2-300 of these in her lifetime. These eggs are potential opera singers, concert pianists, steelworkers, policemen, etc. Males, of course, develope hundreds of thousands of these potential human beings in a lifetime. Where does 'life' begin? The church will argue that it begins with conception, but biologically it begins before that. Something to ponder, isn't it.

Because our constitution gives people the right to decide what they do with their own bodies. Who am I to tell a fifteen year old girl she should go through carrying a baby for nine months, risk her physical health to deliver it, then have to make the choice to give it up for adoption or give up her life as she knows it to raise a child for the next 18 years? What about the married mother who already has 3 or 4 children and find themselves pregnant at the age of 50? Is it fair to bring a child likely facing disabilities into the world with parents that will not live long enough to see to his or her physical and financial needs? What about the drug addicted mother who will continue to use and subject the child to constant pain, neglect, or physical abuse because it was born addicted and not wanted anyway? Abortion is a very personal decision and not one most women take lightly. While I would personally find it difficult to do - I respect the right of a woman to make her own decision and make her peace with it and her own God. Women have had abortions for centuries - legal or not. You cannot legislate morality - the current laws just make it safer for the mother and more humane for the baby.

Because if abortion was made illegal, there would still be people doing it illegally, just like doing crack is illegal, but people still do it. The illegal way is also a lot more likely to seriously injure the mother or keep the fetus alive and give it some birth defects.
Also, it is the mother's choice. Believe it or not, abortion is considered freedom of expression and is protected in the Constitution to some extent. Also, it is a woman's body, and technically her fetus, too, so she should have a say in what happens to her and the fetus.

It is all about the Supreme Court, they decided States had to allow abortions in the first trimester. Roe vs. Wade is the law of the land right now.

Suppose you have sex and end up getting pregnant and your partner is not ready to support your child ?
What happens if you are not financially well off to support the child ?
What if your husband refuses to take care of the child ?
What if you are a career woman and your husband gets you pregnant because he wants you to leave your job or perform poorly in it ?
What if you learn that your partner or you have a disease like AIDS which will be passed on to the child ?
WHAT DO YOU DO THEN ?????????

Whom are you to determine what is valid for every woman. No woman should have to be forced to bear a child when it will harm her- even mentally - how compassionate you are to women. "why not lock her up"? maybe because she has her life planned and a child conceived in rape should not destroy it.
