Benzene is a molecule with a structure consisting of 6 carbon atoms arranged in a hexagon, with a hydrogen atom bonded to each vertex. The hexagonal carbon structure is called a "benzene ring", and is present in many organic molecules, with other atoms of molecules bonded to the vertices in place of one or more of benzene's hydrogens.
