Do not. I repeat Do NOT listen to that answer above. You will start either: 1. an eating condition (if you want to believe it or not you will) 2. completely slow down your metabolism, and your body will start STORING MORE FAT in the wrong places, and then when you do eat something it will sit like a big lump in your stomache because your body isn't used to digesting anything and will take FOREVER 6 times as long as it did before if you choose not to eat for that long.. Trust me.. I went down that road and it's not worth it and took even longer to get everything in balance (metabolism, digestive system, energy, apperance, everything)
What you should do, is cut out sugars, I know its hard but if anything substitute for fruit. Have water be your drink of choice or flavored water (that tastes like soda these days) sugarfree with no calories.. In the mornings pick a cereal box that says loose 10 lbs in 2 weeks or 8 lbs in two weeks and follow the serving size (1/2 cup usually) and fat free milk with fruit.. If you need sugar use splenda.. :)
Take a jog, swim in the pool between tanning, take a brisk walk for 20 minutes a day or every other and you should be just fine...
Hopefully this helps.. but then again your 12 and you shouldn't be that worried.. but if you are stick to throwing out sugar, sodas, juices (with high sugar), candies, etc. and eat more protein : meats, chicken, turkey eat veggies and salads fruits like strawberries bananas blueberries and whole grains...
oh and no white bread-- its just as bad as homemade ice cream.. eat whole wheat.. and now they are making whole weat look like white bread so try that if it looks better..
Be healthy.. and it won't take forever to loose it.. and it would take longer to loose weight by stopping your metabolism (what burns fat)
:) have a great summer!

You definitely can get a flatter stomach without starving and you don't even have to lose 9 pounds either. Start by drinking lots of water (between 64 ounces and a gallon a day)and cutting out sugars ( DON'T USE SWEETENERS IN ANY FORM OR DRINK SODA!). Then eat foods high in fiber (whole grains, raw fruits and raw veggies). Make the high fiber foods a big part of your food intake, starting as soon as you wake up coupled with the water. Your body still needs protein, so make sure that you choose lean meats (nothing greasy or fried). Each serving of meat should be no bigger than the mouse on your computer. Eat 3 servings a day. Finally, the exercise! You may think this first one is strange but you'll start to feel the results within a day or so! 1) Suck in your stomach at all times. 2) Get some cardio daily. Walk, jog, jump rope, swim, dance or run for at least 15 minutes. 3) Do some stretches. Hold each stretch for no more than 10 seconds, let them flow naturally. BE CAREFUL NOT TO JERK OR BOUNCE! 4) Whole body crunches! (Lay flat on your back with your tummy in tight. Then, (with your fingertips lightly resting on the bone behind your ears, your neck relaxed, your legs straight in front of you and your toes pointed) use your stomach muscles to bring your body into a V shape. Start out with counts of 5-10 and do 4 sets resting 45 seconds between sets.
I hope this info helped you. Good Luck!

Your weight and your shape are two different things...especially at 12. For someone who is 5'2", you could actually be considered underweight, as the average healthy weight for someone your height is 118-132 lbs.
For a better figure, you may actually want to try putting on weight...in the form of muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, but toning and building muscle is a great way to improve your shape. Doing this is harder for females than it is males, thats just the way it works, but it is possible. Look up exercises for toning and building muscle. Just because you want to flatten your stomach, doesn't mean you should stick to ab workouts...there are several muscles and trouble spots that need to be worked to give you a better looking figure.
As far as meals go...healthy meals to you may mean 3 squares a day....but a lot more goes into eating healthy. Eating 4 or 5 lighter meals is much healthier than eating 3 heavy ones. Its easier on your digestive system, and fats and nutrients break down easier and less goodness is wasted.

Hi there and yes I know that this is important to you whether you are 12 or 52. If it makes you feel better as long as you go about it in a healthy way then why not? The most important thing to keep in mind is MODERATION. Portion control IS the way to go. Whatever you do, do NOT skip a meal because when we starve ourselves our bodies go into "survival mode" and STORE fat!! You want your body to think that times are good and food is plentiful in order for it to burn fat reserves. Try something like this and remember you can just use this as a guide and it may be tweaked to include or exclude the things you like or dont like;
Breakfast: 1 serving 1/2 cup orange juice or apple juice
1 cup unsweetened whole grain cereal NO SUGAR!!! you may use splenda or equal if you like
1/2 cup no fat (skim) milk (you'll get used to it)
1/2 banana
Lunch: Turkey Sandwich(no mayo) mustard is fine
lettuce and tomato
Tossed Salad ****very important regular salad dressing is LOADED with FAT and sugar stay away!!!!!
use a salad spritzer or a little olive oil and vinegar or soy oil and vinegar. NO CHEESE!!
Dinner; Whole grains whenever possible. Pasta with a marinara sauce, no cheese sauce(cheese is all fat!)Green veggies are great and you can eat a little extra if really hungry. spinach, kale, chopped greens are great. Use seasonings to make healthy no/low fat foods taste better. Unfortunately Fat IS what makes food taste good. I kn ow it isn't fair, but you will get used to it
I think if you just use a little common sense and READ LABELS on ingredients, be smart, you will do just fine. DO NOT try to lose it all at once, you didn't gain overnight. remeber to stay away from SUGARS, STARCHES, FRIED FOODS. Buy things like boneless, skinless chicken breast and bake them with a little garlic. Tuna in water, not oil etc.
Good luck to you and stick with it. Oh yeah, don't weigh yourself daily, once a week is plenty and if you follow basically what I said and use moderation, you WILL lose the weight. Exercise is a HUGE help too.

Ride a bike. This uses all the muscles of the lowers body including your abdominal muscles. You will need to get your heart rate up for at least 45 minutes. Also, I would concentrate on the fit of your clothes not the scale. You can have a flatter stomach and more definition with out losing a pound.

Wow People what is wrong with you? How can you talk to a 12 yr old that way.
Hi
First you are not overweight and it seems like you know that, so more then "losing" weight I think you just want to tone up.
See about going to dance classes or just add 30 min. of dancing a day to your routine and if you don't have a bike see if your folks can get you one( even a used one).
I think all you need is more activity to tone you up and you won't worry about the numbers on the scale.
Best of luck to you sweetie

What do you mean by 'I do eat healthy' - does that mean you have 3 square meals a day, no snack or sugary things in-between if possible. Does that mean you drink a lot of water.
Does that mean you exercise or work out in balance to the amount of food you put in your mouth.
You need to exercise and get out more, be more sociable, the rest will follow

I'm 12 too! But the safest way to get in shape is not to diet!(Way to go your not considering that!) Dieting can lead to many different dilemas. Especially at 12, so if I were you I would go enroll myself in some activities. Such as soccer, (my personal favorite) or track, basketball, volleyball, etc etc. Not only would that be safer it would also be alot of fun! I hope I answered your question!

best thing to lose weight is to hit the weights. Just start working out, lightly though and try not get carried away. Lifting weights is better because you continue to burn calories even after you stop working out. And the plus side is that you put on muscle, which is what uses the fat.

Pretty much eat good, not too much, but eat healthy. Do crunches every morning and night. My dad always told me about 200 when I wake up and go to sleep. Do a good amount of pushups, pretty much just workouts. Just remember always stretch before hand, just so you dont hurt yourself.
