An uninstall doesn't necessarily uninstall every possible file or registry entry. Some applications do a better job than others so it depends on what application you are trying to uninstall. Places to look for files include:
- C:\Program Files\
- C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\
- C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\??> (might be some temporary files associated with the installation in various sub directories)
You may also find files shared in the SYSTEM32 directory (C:\Windows\System32 or some various of this based on the OS version and the particular installation style). Most likely these could be shared "DLLs" (Dynamic Link Libraries).
The registry is also a messy area that applications may not clean up real well. Most installer applications (InstallShield, Install Anywhere, etc...) do a fairly good job at cleaning these out but only if the software developer using the installer software actually does their job to implement it.
If you really want to clear out the computer, check those locations and see what files exist. It helps to have a good idea of what is in those directories to start or you could blow away another application too.

No, uninstalled files are generally store in temp folder, and have option to remove as and when required, Sftware is generally installed by using exe file like setup wich is a single file, that can be removed with a single click if required

some soft wares are very simple and small , they do not have entry with registry or ini files can be unistalled completely.
but many softwares a have entry with registry or ini files cannot be deleted completely. windows will have the record of all software installations and unistalations. If you install and unistall more than 100 programmes windows swap file become big and windows speed will be decreased drastically.

No, in general not everything is removed (sad to say). Most of what's left over are records in your system registry. Those can be removed by various programs, for instance RegCleaner (see sources).
