Me and My fiance' have this pastor, wonderful man, he does not want anything for his service to wed us. We really want to give him something. He won't take money, he will give it right back to us. But we want to show our feelings and a way of saying thank you. This man is wonderful, he has bent over backwards for us. what would you suggest that we give him?

why not give a donation in his name to a special project/mission that your church has? or start a scholarship (even partial) for a deserving youth member of the church in his name (people would love to contribute to that esp if they know the student is deserving)

As a pastor he would probably most appreciate a donation to the church in some capacity. Contact a lay leader or other leader of the church and ask if there is some area of need that you could fill - purchase a couple of hymnals, donation to vacation bible school, that kind of thing. No pastor I know would pass up a donation to the church. Good luck and God Bless.

My mother does this all the time. She either gets him a pair of socks, maybe with crosses on them, or a really nice Christian tie. Another nice thing to get is a gift certificate to a restaurant, like Applebees or TGIF; my pastor loves to eat. Also, another nice thing to do is buy him a "pastor card" and write nice things in it to show him how much you appreciate him, and sneak a little money in it. I'm sure that'll put a smile on your face.

I think the worst thing to get him is a Bible; he probably alreadly has many Bibles that he doesn't use.

Hope this helps
God Bless

Get him a nice card in appreciation with a donation to the church. Make the check out to the church, that should make him feel ok with accepting the money then :)

Good luck!

You could always give a nice donation to charity in his name, or give money to a mission something of that nature. It is really nice of you both for still wanting to do something special for him. Hope your day is wonderful.

A donation to the church sounds wonderful. You can have it be in honor of your pastor for being such an inspiration in your life, or in honor of your marriage.

I would make a donation to his church, in his honor. Give him a card and thank him for his part in your wedding. Tell him how much he means to you, etc. He will appreciate that much more than money.

I agree with everyone who said a donation to the chruch, or a cause he feels strongly about. OR you could commit yourself to helping around the church in the daycare center, or around the grounds keeping it looking nice for a certain period of time.

When I got married, my pastor was opposed to accepting money also, until I reminded him that he was robbing me of the blessing of giving to him. If he still refuses to accept your gift, donate it to the church in his honor.

I would make a nice charitable donation in his name (whatever amount you would have given him) and give him a bookmark noting the donation.

It's a kind thought and something he'll probably appreciate.
