Talk to your child's doctor and ask him/her to recommend a psychologist for you. A psychologist can do psychological testing specifically for asperbers in order to confirm or rule out an asperbergers diagnosis. Hope this helps.

Best way is to talk to professionals.
Your school district has a process to assess and identify special needs (which aspergers falls under) This would be a 100% free process, however since it's summer you would have to wait until the school year and even then it is a process which can be long.
You can talk to your child's doctor for more information on Aspergers, and he/she can recommend a follow up or assessment by a professional.
You can research yourself and find someone to talk to and then decide if you are just being over cautious or have a real concern. Here are some websites that may help...

YOUR CHILD DOES NOT HAVE ASPERGERS! THERE IS NO WAY YOUR CHILD MADE IT TO 16 WITHOUT A DIAGNOSIS IF THAT WERE THE CASE. Your child may be depressed, using drugs, nervous, shy, embarrased or socially awkward and maybe even a little slow. I do not understand why in the last year people want to through Aspergers around like it were a fad.

Has he been diagnosed with it?

hmmm. I would start by saying loving appreciative things all the time. Smiling when you make eye contact. Waiting for answers and reactions to this. Do not ask any questions or demand any action on his part. With anything.

NOT: Do you want dinner?
Try: I left a dinner plate for everyone I love on the table.

NOT: Can you Did you clean your room?
Try: I appreciate you and respect you when you try to clean your room.

these are the kinds of people who do not have much self-esteem and self confidence. they keep on thinking that when they are going to say something, other people might not agree with them and just ridicule them. these kinds of people need affirmations that they have the talent and are capable of succeeding and accomplishing things. you need to show to your child that you are able to recognize his talents. give him a round of applause whenever he accomplishes something. tell him that he is good and has the talent. tell him that he deserves to say something also. tell him not to be shy. tell him that if he'll commit a mistake, that will just be okay. people commit mistakes sometimes.
