Romance languages all come from the Roman language - Latin. They evolved from Vulgar (Common) Latin after the fall of the Roman Empire.
The most well known are:
Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Romanian.
There are dozens more. Some lesser-known ones are :
Catalan, Galego, Sardinian, Romansch, Provencal, plus many more.

hey. i took spanish last year and i had some difficulty. a lot of people think that romance language is like french or italian or something b/c there is lots of "love" or something in europe. although, romance language is like the basics of a language.for instance latin forms a lot of languages. spanish is the most commonly used romance language or something. wikipedia says it is 47% romance language. (or latin)

just to clarify, Romanian people do take pride that the language has some roots in latin but it is a mutt language so I don't know if it can be classified as Romance

the first answer is correct, but spanish is more than a romantic language, is also and aribic descendant language. a mixture of romantic and aribic influence.
