"As to "littering" the world with blacktop and using polluting cars, its our world (God gave us dominion over it, to subdue it) so its not a sin to mess it up beyond recognition"
Littering ... which will hurt everyone eventually is NOT a sin, but (for example) loving another person who is the same gender..... which doesnt hust anybody ... IS a sin?
Destorying the Earth ..... which will ultimately cause our children, their children, etc.. to suffer is NOT a sin? Now look at the things that ARE an 'abomination' ....
Why do you worship this 'being' WHY???

you make a very good point..
..really, in my humble opinion, the bible is the best selling fiction novel of all times, so everything printed in it should be taken with a grain of salt.. followed by a shot of tequila and a slice of lime!

It actually is a sin to pollute the Earth and destroy it beyond recognition. We were given dominion over it and were told to subdue it yes but this means that we must care for it. When we subdue a garden we pull out the weeds, spread mulch, water the gardens, mow the lawns ect, we don't run a bulldozer through it unless we are landscaping (even then we replant trees, mow grass, spread mulch, ect). The world is ours but we must have respect for what God has given to us.

God does tell us in the Bible to obey the laws of man. Man's law says that littering is a crime. So, God would say, don't litter.
Loving another person of the same gender ... my humble opinion is that God doesn't truly consider that one a problem. Hating another, He would be upset about. I know that some churches preach against it, but I think they will be hugely surprised on judgement day.

If you're reading man-made rules that aren't in the Bible, don't say we worship that "being". I certainly don't, I worship the God of the Bible, not man-made rules.
Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.
I would say the following is also true:
To him that knoweth that something is wrong, and does it anyway, to him it is sin.
Littering to me is wrong. I don't know if it's a nation-wide or world-wide law (I doubt it), but to me it's wrong so I don't do it.

You are taking one sentence and twisting it to fit your agenda.
Change the meaning of "Subdue" and you change the whole premise that you have founded your reason for dis-belief on.
Peace!
Oh, and I worship God because that is the only way I have found to true happiness.

We are not only to obey the laws of God we are to obey the laws of the land. Littering is a crime, so yes it would be a sin.

Seems like the Earth is doing fine. By the way, you don't get to define sin any way you like, it is going against the word of God. grow up.

If littering were a sin, the religious wouldn't be able to print pamphlets any more.
