That is a really hard thing to do to lose 100 pounds in 6 months!
I think that is a pretty unrealistic goal so if you don't get there don't get discouraged. You should avoid anything that is high in fat and has little nutritional value. (potatotoe chips, cake, candy bars, sugary drinks) You should also avoid food that is really sugary. It will probably take you more than 6 months to lose 100 pounds. I suggest that you hire a personal trainer because they can help you find exercises that are right for you without hurting your knees. You might also consider a nutirtionist. They can be expensive but if you are really serious about losing weight, you should definitley get professional help. You don't have to own any equipment, just get a gym membership, and try to go at least 3 days a week for an hour.
Best of luck to you and I hope you reach your goals!!!

YOu must have an operation combined with exercise too lost that much in that amount of time. Otherwise, a 900 calorie daily diet with a few days a week 1500 calories under strict supervision could do it. Jenny Craig usually works too, but maybe 45 pounds.

Running is awesome...high cardio!
But if not that biking or swimming. Swimming uses every part of your body.
With cardio also do some strength training..when using weights and doing that every other day you build muscle and burn fat even when your just laying around.
Stay away from sugar, fatty foods, a lot of carbs
Drink lots of WATER, veggies, fruit, lean meats (chicken, grilled) and whole grain foods.
be patience...and be committed!!
hope i helped =] Good Luck!

Please write to me at poppinoff274@yahoo.com
One of my friends is approaching his 200th pound lost. I can most certainly help you. Aside from that, avoid high fructose corn syrup like the plague! Also avoid processed foods, trans fats, hydrogenated anything, and artificial sweeteners of any kind. Use whole grains for carbs, lean meats and whey as protein, and get 6-7 servings of fresh vegetables daily. You can do the "bounce and shake" to get your blood flowing, if you can gently bounce on a little trampoline. Please write to me, as I have a ton of great ideas for you. I can help you.

You should definitely do walking/jogging. Your knee will get better with the more weight that comes off.
Atkins diet. Eat no carbs. Only meat (beef, turkey, chicken, bacon) Eat eggs with real cheese. Not sliced cheese.
leafy green veggies.
