The term "Christian" was coined by the Romans. They original followers of Christ called themselves just that "followers of Christ" or Followers of "The Way".

Acts 11:26
26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
This is the first reference to the word Christian in Scripture...
It is simply a follower of Christ

A person is a Christian who has had their sins forgiven. That is pretty much it.
There is a description for those who wish to be an overseer in 1 Timothy 3:1-6
...If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride

Christians are Jesus Christ believer that He is capable of leading us to The Almighty Father God in Heaven.
Another Jesus Christ mission is to establish a church of fellow believers who will worship the Creator God of Heaven and Earth.
Well, anyone who represents something is labeled from it. Eg. if you`re an American citizens...then you are an Americans. If from Iran...then called Iranian.

Romans 1:22-32, 1 Peter 2:5,9 2 Corinthians 3:3
To paraphrase, one who has a love for the teachings of God, uses God's interpretation of His own word, who flees the things God abhors and has Christ as his picture to aspire to.
One who understands the calling of being a part of the "Holy Priesthood" and who is a "living epistle" of the word of God.

As others have said, Christian means "follower of Christ" Jesus says quite a bit through the gospels "If ye love me keep my commandments" So a Christian would be not only someone who has been saved, but also loves Jesus and keeps his commandments.

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Please notice that we are all in agreement! :)
