Yes, thats a great start...a lot of mine started out like this:
Sue,
Thank you so much for the beautiful crystal vase, it is so elegant and I can't wait to start decorating our new house so I can display it! It was also wonderful to see you. I can't believe you flew in for the shower...you have no idea how much that meant to me! I can't wait to see you at the wedding!
Love
X
By the time you thank someone for the gift and tell them how much you loved seeing them, your card will be pretty full. Have fun, it can be a daunting task.

Yes. What you wrote is perfectly fine. Make sure you mention the gift and how much you like it. Maybe something like "Thank you for place setting of china. We really fell in love with this pattern and we will think about you every time we use it."
If someone gave you money (not all that usual for a shower, but you never know) tell them your plans for the money. Something like "Thank you so much for your generous gift. FH & I have decided to use it towards a down payment on our new house." You get the idea.
Best wishes on your upcoming marriage!

i personaly think the card should be something personal take you time in writing what you want to write to each person think back to the party. thank them for the gift and for coming you might want to add a little something extra like you looked pretty or maybe recap on a conversation or something funny that happend )between both of you or in jenoural) and i think the final touch would be to add maybe a picture from the bridal party of they person adn you or maybe the person alone depending what you have. congrats and good luck

Of course you can say that. In fact, it's a nice touch if you do.
Then go on to say 'Thank you, also, for the lovely kitchen widget. Every time I use it I will think of you'...or whatever is appropriate to the giver, the gift, and you. Not only is this phrasing polite, it also makes the giver feel that the most important part of their gift was the support and friendship it represents.
And isn't that the case?

Yeah, you can say that. Make sure you handwrite them yourself. Mention their gift to... Something like::
"Thanks so much for coming to my bridal shower. It meant a lot to me having you there. I can't wait to use the new blender to make banana-strawberry smoothies!"
Something like that. It might sound sort of corny but, it shows that their gift can be put to use.

that sounds great, what i did was throw in the gift they gave....for example
dear susie,
thank you for coming to my bridal shower, it meant alot to me having you there, your beautiful summer martini set will come in handy for all our b-b-q's and parties we have this summer.
simple, make them feel like they gave you something you liked and can use and that you recognized what they gave you.
