Why don't you just get mean? Don't wimp around with a pistol; get a 12 gauge pump or semi-auto short barrel shotgun with an extended magazine of about 9 shells. Only an idiot bent on suicide would even think about getting in your face.

the "gangsters" use GLOCK 9mm but i would use a 9mm its too small. go with a .40 S&W or sig sauer

They use 9MM, However I personally would not use anything less than a 357 Magnum or 45ACP for self defense*...
