The Bible says that long hair is the glory for women..so what about christian women with short hair? The Bible says that you are not to wear clothing combining two different materials..are u gonna tear out the synthethic fibres from ure cotton tops? The bible is against tattooing your body because your body is the temple of god and piercing its flesh in that way is not allowed...so why do christians pierce their ears?God is love but God's curse can last 4 generations and affect innocent pple in your lineage?

How do u cliam to live by the bible and ignore or unsucessfully combine all these contradictions in it?I had a room mate who was an ardent christian who would praise god when she missed the bus because its his plan...and praise god when she catches the bus on time because he helped her. ????????

You aren't suppose to do an error check, accept it on blind faith a believe, that is required for a religion.

Well, if you were a Christian and really trusted God then you would understand some things. If you are reading the old testament, we as Christians don't live under what's called "the law" anymore. When Jesus came and died for us, that's when we he made it so we don't have to live under that anymore. And there's a whole bunch of other stuff, but you wouldn't really understand any of it. And the bible says that you can't get tattoos that honor the dead. Stuff like "R.I.P Justin" that's an example. And your room mate missed her bus because of her own fault. She used it as an opportunity to praise God instead of murmuring and complaining. Hope that answers your question.

Keep this in mind when making judgement
on people and the bible.
Theres a difference between the 2.
And to really get a christians goat dont just
blurt out a bunch of scripture, add the intent
behind the scripture.
Read the whole book rather than the verse
you might learn something.

1)That was cultural,Paul never said it was a Law.
2) take a wool sweater and put a 100% cotton patch on it,now wash it ,what happens?
3) The tatoos of those days were always religious oriented for the pagans. They would pierce themselves to show their devotion to their gods, tatoo and cut thier hair in certain patterns to honor their false gods.
4) All these things except #1 are from the Old Testament. The Old was to teach us by example that "none of us are righteous no not one" Mixing those fabrics works about as well as mixing one religion with another ,not too good, see the lesson? As Paul said ,you're "not to muzzle the ox that grinds the corn",the lesson is ,you pay a person for what he is worth.
You just need to know how to read the Book instead of looking for criticisims.

There are no contradictions in the bible. The cloth that is not to be worn is linen and wool. The bible says nothing about cotton or synthetic materials. As for the hair, a woman who has long hair needs no covering, a woman who has short hair needs a veil or hat.

First of all, you point to no contradictions in the bible. You only give examples of people who claim to follow the bible, but whose actions contradict the bible. Second, most of the things you point out are part of the laws/rules of the Old Testament. Christians, those who believe that Jesus is the Messiah, were told to abandon the old laws and follow only two commandments: love God with all your might and love your neighbor as yourself. Thus the actions you mention do not contradict their faith.

The Bible, if properly understood, contains no contradictions. What we are seeing today is people that claim to be Christian(and they may be) not doing what the Bible says.
These people have compromised, by whatever avenue this deception came in it came in.
Christ is able to make them stand...I am not their master, so I cannot judge. We can point things out, but certainly not condemn.
About your friend...it is unfortunate, but many Christians seem to fall into the idea that they will be totally taken care of...that they have NO responsibility in anything.

I guess its because if you believe you find you do indeed come into relationship with your Creator. In other words, Jesus did actually sacrifice Himself for us, and that puts us on advantageous terms with God vis-a-vis the general population.

Some denominations have a tendency to teach all sorts of rules, that can be a very legalistic approach. That kind of thing should be left to the "its my works that saves me" religions.

Im sorry that this is off the subject but what do u atheists expect? I mean u bother us about everything and you ALWAYS start the fight with our religion. All we do is fight back so we can preserve the truth. We don't care we kno you have the choice to be christian or whatever else. If you left us alone you would't be so flicky about these matters.
