You may want to try having a vitamin & mineral supplement pill that has iron in it. That way if you don't eat every vitamin you need, you can still get enough.
Iron-rich foods besides meat include dark, leafy vegetables (like spinach), drired fruits, baked beans, chickpeas, cereals fortified with iron (try Post Frosted Shredded Wheat), tofu, lentils, dried peaches, and artichokes.

Being on your period can affect your iron level to a certain extent, so that may be all that was wrong with your bloodwork. But the main thing dietary-wise is to eat a lot of dark leafy greens, like spinach, kale, turnip and mustard greens. Without meat, those are the best sources of iron. Of course, you can take multivitamins with minerals that contain iron, but sometimes these just aren't absorbed as well as the food-based sources.

Do you take a multivitamin? I used to be a vegetarian too, so it's important to get all the nutrients you need. You can try a basic multivitamin like Centrum, with an iron supplement like Slow Fe. Be sure to check with your doctor before starting any vitamin regimen.

Well I am anemic to and I don't really like meat either so you could take a mulitvitamin or a iron supplement. You could buy the iron supplement at like GNC or you could buy the mulitvitamin anywhere.

You can take a supplement, but be careful and only take the recommended amount. You can get quite ill from overdosing on iron supplements.

Never diagnose yourself.
The problem with being a vegetarian is you have to understand nutrition. Go to your doctor and get some nutritional counseling.
Read some books and clean up that spelling!
