To me "Soul" means the living energy that will rejoin the universe when I die to be spun out again and again to experience all the universe has to offer

1: There is no such thing as an "evolutionist" except in the minds of Creationists. The theory of evolution is not a religion.

2: The theory of evolution says nothing whatsoever about the existence of a "spul".

3: To me, the term "soul" is a very vague and poorly defined word that tends to change meaning depending on what the theist is trying to claim.

Evolutionist is a word made up by Theists. If you are aiming this question at people who think the Theory of Evolution is as good an explanation for life as we have currently, then just say that.

Since the soul is a construct of adults with imaginary friends, it has no relevance to the theory, or anyone else with a sense of reason.

There is no such thing as an evolutionist, that would be like saying a gravitityist....

The soul was a term which is relatively new in the evolution of religion to explain the human consciousness through the reality we perceive through our brain.

Psychologists feel that the mind is the location of any "soul' they feel a person may have, but contradict their half belief in following science to the point of concluding that the body's organisms and design is simply a mass particle with every action and hence thought or movement being a reaction to the chemical processes going on inside someone. This is how they justify condemning others with labeled disorders and determining that if they were not functioning appropriately then they have no 'soul' and are lacking a few organic components or the ones they have do not let the ebb of enegy flow appropriately through from organ to other organ.
In reference to evolutionists they feel that humans evolved from monkeys, or from a single gene itself in the universe that co-inhabited with other organic chemicals and minerals to become a reaction, as opposed to any God creating them.
They fail to mention where the initial gene came from that mixed with some molecule to cause a big bang and hence evolution.
Darwin was a good orthologist and theorist. But others will become such also.

Hopefully you find your answer...!

A soul is an imaginary object created to explain the effects of the electro chemical and physiological changes in a person's brain that give them rational thought.

Because people can not conceive of a physical object so complex that it would be capable of performing everything that we do they put an imaginary spirit in control of it all.

For the awkward question of where it comes from, where does it go, how does it interact with the brain, why do physical and chemical changes in the brain effect it, etc. - the answer is God Did It.

Soul is a neurophysiological fantasy. The lack of propioceptors in the brain leads to the illusion that physical brain is seperate from consciousness.

'Soul' is a paradigm used to more easily explain part of how the brain works, much like mind, emotion and morality. It has no existence of its own, which can be shown by observing people who have been in bad accidents and through brain damage appear to have lost their 'soul'. The same is true of the other paradigms I mentioned.

Don't take my word for it - go out and visit a mental institution and research it for yourself.

What does it mean to you?

I have never heard a sensible definition of what it is supposed to be. It seems to change at whim, and basically be a disembodiment of self - even though such disembodiment hsa never been known to occur in any way.

So I guess from the evidence, its a fiction.

Firstly, there is no such thing as an evolutionist. Secondly, what people call a soul is really just a by product of language.

I have no idea. I don't use that word. When people use it I seriously have no idea what they are talking about. They seem to be using it as a synonym for the word mind, but I already have the word mind so why would I need another word for the same thing.
