I think they're all barking at an imaginary tree.

Every religion has it's own customs for worship. I think we all have the desire to worship the One who created us. We just have different ways of worshipping and a lot of people are worshipping created things like idols made of wood or metal. I still don't understand why someone would worship something that can't hear, talk, or think, other than being deceived by the enemy, Satan. Anyway, rabbit trail...i digress.
In my experience with Christianity, faith is the key and without it, it all seems like foolishness. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. 1 Corinthians 1:18 says,
The message about the cross doesn't make any sense to lost people. But for those of us who are being saved, it is God's power at work.
Also in 1 Corinthians 2:12-14...especially verse 14...
1Co 2:12 But God has given us his Spirit. That's why we don't think the same way that the people of this world think. That's also why we can recognize the blessings that God has given us.
1Co 2:13 Every word we speak was taught to us by God's Spirit, not by human wisdom. And this same Spirit helps us teach spiritual things to spiritual people.
1Co 2:14 That's why only someone who has God's Spirit can understand spiritual blessings. Anyone who doesn't have God's Spirit thinks these blessings are foolish.
People who believe are on a different wavelength. It's like we hear a language that people who don't believe can't understand. But when you believe, your eyes are opened and you can finally see the way things are.

Your imagery of a Christian Church as a "god magnet" would be amusing if it were not so pathetically wrong. For the first 250 years of its existence, the Christian Church had no special houses of worship; Christians prayed, sang, and studied together in homes. Only later when its membership became larger were special buildings of worship erected. Every religious group has special places for worship or study. To imply sarcasm of Christians for having churches is like mocking people for breathing: both are natural phenomena.

I can understand why you don't see much difference in that. They are all practicing their own rituals.
It's okay if you believe they are all barking at the wrong tree.
But, it's okay for them to do so as well.. as long as they aren't harming anyone else, they should have the freedom to practice their form of worship, even if you think the whole thing is silly.

It is a result of mankind choosing the wrong tree.
There is a big difference between what you see in the world of religion and the truth of God.
All these people are trying to accomplish their own "righteousness" through what they perform.
In true Christianity, it is God who performs what He wants through the individual who realizes he (or she) can never make themselves over into what God wants.

I suppose the question is "why don't I see a difference?" The best answer for this is that there isn't any real differences at all, well there are massive belief differences, but nothing real.

You are entitled to your beliefs.
By the way, a Muslim is not "kissing a rug." His or her forehead is touching the ground while prostrating.
