Well since there's thousands of churches in this country alone, I don't think there's just one answer. Sure some of them will go after you if they're nasty, but some wouldn't.

It's a contribution not a payment. Of course, some would have a poor response because of the human side but I believe a Christ-like response would be to send you the check in the mail and save you the embarrasment of facing someone. That's what we've done at our congregation before. I think most churches would have a similar response. Repaying the amount plus bank charges to the church would be the right thing to do.

It really depends on the church. Why would anyone write a bad check in purpose, to anybody. If one writes the check, it would be the right thing to fix the situation.

Instead of giving money to church, I put a note in the plate that says, I will pray for you, and God will provide.
I have found that in this instance, following the long standing Christian tradition of offering prayer instead of tangible assistance is the way to go.

Just pay for the check and the fee, usually $25 that the bank charged them for it.

I don't think they will sue you, but they are going to want their money. You will probably have to pay a service charge.

If they did, you would know to flee from that church.

Yes. God would tell them to because they have not met his daily quota.
