I have always driven a sedan but now I'm in the market for a small SUV like the Ford Escape. I've already test driven one but I'm concerned about blind spots and parallel parking. Will it take a lot getting used to driving a SUV if I've always driven a sedan?

Driving an SUV is just as easy as driving a car. Any time you change vehicles (be it a small car or a large truck) you have to get used to the differences. Use your mirrors, and take your time until you are comfortable with the vehicle.

One trick when parallel parking is to set the passenger side mirror to point down, so you can see the rear tire (if you have power mirrors) You then can see how close you are to the curb!

I have always driven sports cars since getting my license 15 yrs ago and getting into a SUV was no problem. I've never noticed any more blind spots then in a sedan. Now parallel parking is another thing. I personally have never done it in a SUV. Where i live there is no need to parallel park (other the the court house lol) That is something you might want to try on a test drive. Get some cones and head to a parking lot. That is the safest thing to do.

An SUV, activities application motor vehicle, is a huge motor vehicle with super tires and extensive wheel base, by utilising definition. A sedan is a Passenger automobile that has a three pillar roof help, back, by utilising definition. the only ingredient it fairly is distinctive between a renowned SUV and a Sedan is that the SUV could or would possibly no longer have Window Pillars or Roof Pillars above the doors. which would be a Nineteen Thirties-Eighteen Eighties Jeep CJ. those are relaxing. A sedan grants an panoramic view to the components, it fairly is from the early days of motor vehicle layout. I fix previous automobiles and restore extra recent automobiles, it fairly is how I discovered that. automobiles are effortless to function, SUVs are fairly autos that have an enduring cab and mattress conceal. Now that maximum autos have power guidance, power brakes and vehicle-transmissions, on the instant they're all much less extensive to function. The sedan is decrease and smaller. i could propose a sedan.

Not at all. My mom used to drive a sedan about 6-7 years ago when we got our first SUV, and I never heard her complain about anything and she seemed to drive it ok. Small SUV's like the Ford Escape will be way easier to drive since they are smaller than, lets say, a Ford Explorer or a Ford Expedition. The smaller the SUV, the better the handling it will have.

The hardest SUV that I've ever driven is the Ford Ecosport and the Chevrolet Tracker, they are pretty tall.

I prefer sedans or hatchbacks like Pontiac G6, Chevrolet Vectra, Audi A3 or Chevrolet Astra

You will need to watch your speeds more closely. Most SUV's are top heavy, making them prone to roll-over.

I will also take some getting use to parallel parking. The best way to learn and get comfortable is to pratice. I would take it to a drivers lisence place and practice before trying it on the road.

No, it's easy, and in many cases you actually have a better view of the road than in a sedan. Before you buy one, drive the Honda CRV and the Toyota RAV4. They are the two best. The Escape is nice but it is a ten year old design and does not get nearly as good gas mileage as the Honda or Toyota.
