I would like to know the rules and regulations related to adoption of an Indian male child by an Indian living in India.

Adopting a new born requires that both the parents must be able and in a position to the feed, educate and look after properly. In case of adopting a school going boy there is not much of a problem. It is better to adopt someone who is amenable and is not too old.

There is no age limit for any person male or female to adopt any chlid girl or boy. With regard to adoptee, u can adopt any age of child, but its better tht the child is not tht infant(early age)coz there will be problem for milk feedin or vacination etc.U can go to any orphanage centre in ur city n fill up all the formalities n select any child of ur choice n take up the responsibility of it as a parent. All the best!

Looks as if they differentiate based on religion or did recently. You would do better to contact someone in India as to the current situation. Most of what I can find online is targeted at International adoption from India, not domestic within India

India doesn't have very strict laws about age. Check out http://india.adoption.com for more information
